I'm an aspiring college student who hopes to one day become a great English professor...or something in communications. My life's goal is write a GOOD book (maybe even GREAT). I've got a thick skin so feel free to criticize my work to death. To be honest, I'm probably better at revising than writing anyways.

Whenever I write, I usually don't know what I'm going to write about. I have a very vague idea, and then I just let the words go and they pretty much do my writing for me. Weird process, I know, but it works (for the most part). I'm a real stickler for grammar, but I'm pretty laid back when it comes to content.

--- Things About Me ---

1) I am a Christian - 7th Day Adventist - and proud of it. I'm fairly young in my faith, but I'm working to grow more everyday.

2) I love food. But not just any food - DESSERT food. I believe dessert should be a meal all on its own. Oh and bacon. Turkey bacon to be exact.

3) I love to sing. Writing and music are my two main things. Everything else is blah (just kidding). I'm a huge karaoke fan so anyone who has a karaoke machine - let's party.

4) I'm into movies - not just watching them, but making them as well. I'm not particularly talented in that area, but I AM willing to learn.

5) I love to write. (that should go without saying, but I felt like saying it anyways...)

6) This one's pretty important: I NEVER SLEEP. I'm pretty sure I'm starting to develop insomnia or something cos I can't sleep until at least after 2 AM. It's horrible and I thank God for this site so I can keep myself entertained in the wee hours of the morning ^_^

THE END

--- Favorite Poem ATM ---

Out through the fields and the woods
And over the walls I have wended;
I have climbed the hills of view
And looked at the world, and descended;
I have come by the highway home,
And lo, it is ended.

The leaves are all dead on the ground,
Save those that the oak is keeping
To ravel them one by one
And let them go scraping and creeping
Out over the crusted snow,
When others are sleeping.

And the dead leaves lie huddled and still,
No longer blown hither and thither;
The last lone aster is gone;
The flowers of the witch-hazel wither;
The heart is still aching to seek,
But the feet question ‘Whither?’

Ah, when to the heart of man
Was it ever less than a treason
To go with the drift of things,
To yield with a grace to reason,
And bow and accept the end
Of a love or a season?

"The History of Love" by Nicole Krauss

I know that the title might turn people off, but believe me, this story is more than just about love. There are those who argue that it is actually a novel about the process of writing, and I will say that that is ONE aspect of the novel, but to me, I feel like it's more about an attempt at discovering what it truly to means to exist. It's one of the best books you'll ever read. Even though it's in novel form, the words are so artistic and so beautiful that it might as well be a lengthy poem. I URGE you to read it. If you actually do, let me know. I'd love to hear what you think.

My journal entries

  • Are you happy with life right now? Since we pretty much stated that we're kind of in the same situation, I was wondering if you shared my discontent with life. Granted you have your band and music to keep you going (something that I sorely lack), is that enough to fill whatever void exists in other parts of your life

    It's like a breath of fresh air to have someone write clearly about themselves, I can almost hear your voice.

    By the way, as a Christian myself, i wondered if you had heard that the word "Grace" is an acronym for "God's Riches At Christ's Expense." just thought you might like to know that!
