I am really in the science fiction mode now. The Star Trek movie came out and I started watching Battlestar Galatica. I know, my inner-geekness is leaking out.
I want to see other peoples sci-fi stories. The beauty of sci-fi is that it can be about anything. It doesn't even have to be realistic.
Rules:
As you might have know from the contests I have done, I don't like rules. It cranks my style. I don't want that to crank your style too. So here are some easy rules.
1. cussing is allowed. (I have heard every curse word in the world, I think I can handle it.)
2. Got to be Sci-fi (that's the point of the contest, silly.)
3. the great thing about sci-fi is that it can have anything in it. Fantasy, romance, etc.
4. no twilight. no vampires. I'm sorry but Im really sick of those at the moment. If you enter a vampire story, it will be deleted out of the contest.
5. yeah that's about it. If you read the all this write legendary weaponmaster down below.
Thank you
Hope you win

So, do you want science fiction, or speculative fiction in general, because there's a big difference between fantasy and sci-fi.
-
-
I love both sci-fi and fantasy. Either one will do in my opinion. Just no vampire stuff.
-
-
Okay, fantasy it is.
-
-
-
Sci-fi = technological explanations for stuff
Fantasy = magical explanations for stuff
if you have both, that's science fantasy.
Vampire tech qualifies, I think. Kinda like Star Wars does. Only lamer.
-
-
Eh... Vampires suck all the way around. And I would count Star Wars as science fiction--scociologically speaking, it's a lot more realistic than a lot of people give it credit for. And sociology is a science.
-
-
Star Wars is pretty packed with fantasy elements though: a young person on a massive quest who discovers he has powers, good vs. evil fighting for the entire galaxy, coming of age, epic battles, Jedi "wizards" who wield the mysterious "magical" Force, a princess, several rogues, fantastical creatures of all sorts (most sentient, some not, some good, some evil), numerous secondary-world settings, and Jabba the Hutt is a dragon.

These aren't limited to fantasy of course, but they show up there all the time. The spaceships, lightsabers, Death Stars, force fields, hand-held blaster pistols and tractor beams are the sci-fi side. Don't get me started on midichlorians though.
This is why I call it science fantasy. -
-
LOL. I like that...science fantasy. I think that's better than science fiction. Science fiction and fantasy are always together in my opinion. It's hard to do a science fiction without a little fantasy in it.

I'm currently not updating my AN, so...Legendary weaponmaster. My story is The Bedlam Virus.
Great contest!
-
So... legendary weaponmaster for the story "our mother's funeral"
-
Legendary weaponmaster...give me some of your weapons.
Immortal and That Contagious Humanity.
P.S. Vampires needn't be neccessarily bad you know. I read a science fiction story called 'Metastasis' by Dan Simmons. It was about cancer vampires. XD Not joking, but the guy's a good author. -
-
wow cancer vampires? I do have to say that is a new one that I never heard before. I'm not saying all vampires are horrible. I'm reading that house of night series and enjoying it a lot. I just like the traditional vampires is all. None of that sparklie thing going on. lol
-
-
Question....
I have a question....my story has vampire in it, but they are not the focus of the story. It is about the only demon in existence. It's like a dark fantasy. -
-
Yeah sure, go ahead and enter it in. Just as long as your vampires aren't sparkling or something weird like that, I'm totally cool with it.
