I do not add contest notes to author's notes - since I use my ANs for actual notes about my story. I do read the rules - everyone does. This 'add stuff so I know you've read the rulz' is a fad - an annoying groupie trend that most serious writers on SW simply try to ignore. That is because when we enter contests (which we do a lot), myriads of extra 'notes' - often ridiculous and idiotic statements - make our stories look unprofessional. The AN trend is not accepted SW practise. The sooner you realise this the better.
