Amazing Fan Fiction wanted:
1. Any genre
2. Any realm
3. Anything you are a fan of.
Often we have a narrow view of what constitutes fan fiction. Well, this contest is about putting those biases to rest. If a writer is a fan of anything, the creative mind can create fiction surrounding it.
This contest is all inclusive. We will NOT tell you what you are to be a fan of. We will NOT limit your "fandom" by giving you a list of "appropriate" subject matter. We will NOT tell you it is impossible to be a fan of your favorite Crayola color if you manage to write a fan fiction with it as the main character in a sordid battle with Superglue.
----------------------------------------------------
We will, however, give you a few rules to follow.
1. Only 1 entry per author.
2. Categorize properly especially if your write is of an "adult" nature. If in doubt, ask us.
3. No bashing of any culture, sexual orientation, religion, etc.
4. White background, black font. No photos or graphics. Your piece should read as if it were a page in a plain ole book.
5. In your author's notes tell us what you based your fan fiction on. No detailed descriptions of your work, just what you are a fan of and who owns the original copywrite of the thing you based your story on. This is to give credit where credit is due. We should be able to pick up the details from the story itself.
6. STORIES ONLY.
7. Minimum word count 500 maximum 5000. No more, no less.
----------------------------------------------------
Some FanFic ideas--you are NOT limited to these choices
Your favorite band, musician, actor/actress, writer, book, movie, sports team, TV series, pc game, video game, song, poem, store, lore, legend or fairy tale.
Suggestions:
1. Use spell check.
2. Use paragraph breaks.
3. Limit phonetic spelling to dialogue and only use acronyms and sticky caps if they actually have something to do with your story.
4. Proof read your work.
5. If you enter a prewrite make sure it is your best work and it is indeed a fan fiction piece. Edit your author's notes, background, etc to be in compliance with the rules if need be.
6. Check back often for suggestions from the judges in case you missed a rule.
7. Read your fellow contestants, they will probably return the favor.
Prizes are as follows
1st place--Gold Trophy, 100 points and a 3 month gold membership
2nd place--Silver Trophy, 100 points and a 3 month silver membership
3rd place--Bronze Trophy and 500 points.
1 Honorable mention will be awarded.
----------------------------------------------------
There will be a panel of judges. I will be listing them here so check back soon for the edit. I wanted to get the contest up and running so that everyone could get to work writing
Judges so far
-Syren-
Barbara
-KariKaliRama-
Cyberartist
Sodarnditzy
George Abbey
Kylia Skydancer
We will judge based on
1. Originality
2. Ability to keep the interest of both those familiar with the origins of the fan fic and those who have never heard of it.
3. Clarity of story
4. Polish, IE minimal typos, good paragraph breaks, etc. Obviously, if your story looks like a rough draft, it won't get as high of a mark from the judges.
-----------------------------------------------------
This contest will remain open until May 18th.
Good luck to all.

That's what it was like to get a story entered into your the contest. Gave up once, came back and entered it as a prewrite (it was a new write but went to storywrite, now I have to enter it as a prewrite). Anyway, going to check background and stuff now. -
How do you all feel about cussing? There isn't too much in my story, but it's still there, and I just wanted to check before I entered.
-
Actually, this couldn't be much like paper cause the writing can' be in italics and whatnot.
