Have you ever heard that song? It's by Pat Benatar, talking about child abuse.
Which is what I want you to write about.
It can be any form of writing, as long as it is realistic.
Rules:
*Intelligent writing, no chat speak
*Make the background/font combo easy to read
*Bashing this subject is fine this time around, although I would not see any meaningful point in doing so
Points will go up with entries
Message me if you have any questions
I will try to comment on each piece
Have fun!

can it be a memoir?

Absolutely.

"Bashing this subject is fine this time around, although I would not see any meaningful point in doing so"
So you want stories condoning child abuse? O.o -
-
I think they mean that bashing it won't change the fact that children are crying in their beds alone with no one to hold them, or that new bruises appear on little ones who should be innocent. I think they mean they want poems about awareness- rather than solely bashing it- poems that bring forth what the child goes through as that would be the strongest way to bring awareness
-
I am against child abuse, I'll make that clear. However, sometimes when my mouth gets ahead of my brain, people criticize my views on issues, such as this one. They know it is wrong, but speak otherwise since they are sick of the "child abuse awareness" around them.
That is what I mean by bashing. Although, it is forwarned that having a different opinion will not change anything and that I will disagree.

I've never heard the song you mentioned, so I guess I'll have to look it up, but I was abused as a child so I'm sure I can come up with something decent, although it might be decidedly dark.
Thanks for posting this contest and bringing awareness to an unfortunate act that happens every day. -
-
You're welcome. I am so sorry you've had to go through abuse. I have had to too, but not in the traditional ways people would think. I hope you are better off now and I look forward to an entry.

poems?

Poems are welcome, any form of writing, really.

I am entering my novel. Chapter One. It is a novel about child abuse. It also deals with a lot of other subplots. I hope when reading you see it being revealed. Feel free to read my prologue before you read the chapter.
Thank you.

Thanks for the bronze! :] I hate abuse, and I'm glad you went to the trouble just to make it known about.
