Young-Adult Opinions

This is my first contest, so I really want it to be as simple as possible.

All I want is for young-adults to tell me what they think.

Would you read a young-adult book if it had some sexual content in it? If it had some minor, healthy sex scenes in it, would you stop reading it the moment the word, "sex" was on the page?

As an exampled: Since everyone knows about Twilight, I'll use that.

Bella and Edward laid in Bella's bed one night in one of the chapters. All they did was talk before Bella went to sleep. If, instead, they had sex would you approve and love the book (like girls do now), or would you not love the book so much?

Basically, I want to know if you approve of sex in young-adult novels.

I'm talking about 15-17 young-adult books, not under.

If two teenage characters really love each other and want to have sex (in a book) is it okay with teenagers for the author to write it? Would you read it?

Please tell me why you would or would not read sex in a young-adult book.

One last thing I want to say.

"Sex is horrible," adults tell us teens, but they do it, right? As a teen, you should want to know about it without having to experience it. Reading it in a book about people your age in love is a way of understanding it before you're actually doing it.

And we all hear about the consequences of sex. Why not, for once, hear about the good part of it through a young-adult book?

Okay, I'm getting irritated trying to explain this without taking up so much time. Please try to understand me. Any questions, message me. Teenagers opinions are wanted.

No word limit or anything.

The person who's message gets through the most will win the points.

Thank you ^.^

  3. There is no problem as to why there shouldn’t be sex in YA novels. As a fifteen-year old, I find YA books to be very bland and therefore have transitioned to reading adult novels. Probably the main reason I read adult books i

  6. I think sex would be okay if added into a young adult novel. I mean, isn’t it true that most people having sex today range from the ages of 15 to 17? What would be wrong with putting the truth into a story? 1

  • I don't think there is anything wrong with sex in young adult books, long as it's not full-out erotica, like romance novels. Teens have sex

  • I mean, so what? If these people love each other enough to give one another their virginity then right on. But if they just do it to do it it's still okay but not to my liking really. But it's all about the love.
