Suicide. Murder. Rape.
Topics that are increasingly popular in everyday culture, whether it be in our books, the web, or the news. Violence is in.
And I want to hear about it.
Now, before you're off to go write the bloodiest story you've ever written, I'd like to set some guidelines. Please don't be discouraged just yet.
1) Mystery. I want to be left feeling frustrated. I don't want all the details. I want you to go against everything people have ever told you, and leave some questions unanswered. I refused to believe I'm the only person who works that way.
2) Spelling. Grammar. Two things that come in very handy.
3) Keep it interesting. Don't bore me with a long list of details in the beginning of the story. I won't make it through the first paragraph. I'm telling you right now: if I don't like it, I won't finish it.
4) Bashing of any kind: okay. But please, if it's not important, it doesn't have to be mentioned.
5) NO CHAPTERS! Not even the first one! My God people, I want a short story!
6) Um... Realistic. And I don't mean "no fantasy creatures". I mean, I want real feelings. What's going through their minds?
7) FEELINGS ARE IMPORTANT!!! I love knowing how the character is doing, and what they're thinking. To me, a description of the pulse pounding, the jumping adrenaline is more exciting than the action, if you can describe it right.
8) Got a problem with my rules? Well you'll just have to message me, won't you? And I don't like agressive people, neither, so be nice~!
Now go, little minions. Write about your favorite destructive topic, and report back to me in the form of entering this contest.
I wish you luck against my critic's eye. It won't be easy impressing me.
