Contest for Serious Writers Of An Imaginitive Sort: contest #1

First off, if you are not in this group you may not enter in the contest. But you can check us out at this link (please do)

http://storywrite.com/group/show/Serious+Writers+Of+An+Imaginitive+Sort

Ok, for those that are in the group... this contest, of course, applies only to the genres that are associated with the group; you should know what that is.

But that isn't it. I am going to give you a character, and you will take his ordinary life... and turn it upside down. It can end for the better, but i can also end for the worse; im hoping for both kinds of entries.

Adam Baker is an ordinary man. He lives in in the small town of West Irving, Chicago, and works as an assembly worker for Toyota. He is at the age of 52, has a wife named margrette, and has two sons (Ben, who is 17, and Bret, who is 4)
Times are tough for him and his family, due to the economic situation; he is worried about providing for his family.
He drives in a used Toyota subcompact.
His daily routeen is like clockwork: up at 4:30 A.M., reads the morning paper while sipping a cup of coffee, is at work by 5:00(the plant is just down the road), has a lunch break, and then as soon as work is over, he heads directly home.
But today is not an ordinary day; something is about to happen that will change his life forever...

Now, whatever happens to him, it takes place after he leaves work. It can happen in the car, at home, whatever. Just give me something that will SUPRISE ME and EXCITE ME. And of course, you use only the genres covered by the group.

You dictate his physical features and personality! What do you think this man is like?

no less than 500 hundred words
I dont have a word limit, but dont write anything rediculously long.
All the usual rules apply.
Put your name in the authors notes cuz some idiot who isnt in the group always tries to get in anyway.

And remember: if you present a polished piece of work, the winner will be spotlighted.

I think that is all.

I'm hoping for good turn out. I know the group was just started yesterday and that we dont have a ton of people, but i'm doing everything i can. Thanks and have a great day

Is it just coincidence that the first group contest has a character named Adam in it?

Is the next contest going to have an Eve?

Well, I thought it was funny...

Hmm...All those points, so few entries...That whole 'no prewrites' thing really scares them away, doesn't it?

Could you do me a favor? Could you possiby add a couple days to the contest? I've been thinking and thinking about a story and now I've got one but there's so little time left...
