This is my first contest! I do hope it goes well.
This is a anime/manga fanfiction contest. For those very very few who have read something of mine, you will know I'm a big fanfiction writer and reader, and I feel that there's not a lot of room on this site for this genre. So this is for all you blokes who have fantastic fanfiction you're just aching for people to read and appreciate! After all, if you are like me, then some of your best material is fanfiction.
But before you go posting your ficlets all over the place, let me lay down the law:
1. I take fanfiction very seriously, so I will be judging on creativity (I prefer AU or Alternate Universe fanfiction, but I'm not limiting it to that), characterization (keeping people in character; that's a really big one for me) and the grammatical precision and style.
2. Slashing (yaoi, gay/lesbian, whatever you refer to it as) is absolutely allowed. I happen to be quite a proud yaoi fangirl.
3. NO and I repeat NO PWP, Porn-Without-Plot. I really don't want to read about two people doing it and then "the end." If you have to put it in, then fine: just have a story, with some emotion other than pleasure, please. Other than that, any genre is allowed.
4. Keep the word count normal-sized, okay? I won't put specifics; just use your judgement.
5. The rest of the rules (including but not limited to sticky caps, grammar, common sense, ect.) should be well-known and not have to be mentioned.
All anime/manga titles are accepted. If I don't know the title I'll just do the research beforehand, so don't worry about it. Additional titles you can enter with are Harry Potter and Avatar the Last Airbender. NO TWILIGHT FANFICTION WHATSOEVER!!

umm what is fan fiction exactly?

Fanfiction is a story written by a fan of a show, movie, book, ect ect, where the writer uses his/her favorite characters instead of creating his/her own. For example, if I decided to use characters from Harry Potter and, instead of putting them in their cannon world of magic, I would write a story about them being in high school, keeping all people in cannon character. It can be quite refreshing, especially if you don't like something that happened in your favorite show/book. Just rewrite that episode/chapter so it happens the way you think it should have!
This is, however, a manga/anime fanfiction contest, so if you've got something or want to give it a try, please feel free! Fanfiction can be challenging to write and rewarding when other fans of your book comment.

FINALLY! I have found a fanfiction contest!.... However...
My fanfiction isn't EXACTLY anime/manga... its more of fantasy/sci-fi: Heroes, lol. Plus, i don't really use the old characters from the show... i like, mention em, but i just took the idea of the next season/volume and kinda re-wrote it from other people's perspective... am i allowed that, even though you say only anime/manga? -

Ehh ... sorry. For this contest at least, I only want anime/manga plus the two other titles I mentioned. Besides, I didn't watch Heroes, so I wouldn't be able to judge you fairly. Sorry. Maybe next contest.
