Quite some time ago, I was afflicted with severe boredom while browsing Storywrite and perusing people's stuff. Then, by a series of complicated firing of neurons in my brain, I had a brainwave. 
 
HOST A CONTEST!! 
 
 
But.
There's a catch.
 
YOU HAVE TO BE ON MY FRIENDS LIST. 
 
Not on the list, sorry, I'll make a contest for y'all mere mortals later.
 
 
My friends, the object of this contest is, quite simply, to see who among my friends is the best writer! (In my opinion, which you can take with a grain of salt and some lemon juice ... ) 
 
As you can see, there's five places on the finalists list. Five of you will survive this first round, and proceed to stage two of my little rumble. Then we'll see what's what. 
 
Here's the time to bring out that story and dust it off, or, better still (BROWNIE POINTS ALERT) open that Big Book Of Ideas Waiting To Be Formed Into A Fabulous Story and whip something fresh up! 
Chuck your very best into here, and let RJ decree what's what.
 
Now, let me be clear, if you don't win, that doesn't mean I hated your story. The finalists list has only five places. Take it up with the government. 
I promise to leave a comment on each of your stories, regardless of whether I've read it before or not. So you'll come out of it with some of my well-meant-feel-good comments.

So, this promises to be an exciting tournament -- for I have some very skilled writers on my favourites list ... the only question is, will those masters and mistresses deign to enter my humble little contest?

    Considering your extensive friends list and the calibre of some of those on it (i.e Dan, Lori, etc) I haven't got a chance in highest hell. But ah well, I've give it a shot.

    I totally had an awesome idea for a new story to write for this...and then I got sick for a week and did nothing but watch cartoons and wish my tonsils wouldn't hurt so I could swallow again. Ah well, I guess you'll have to settle for an oldie but goodie.
