Fool me!

Ok, I came up with a crazy Idea. You guys submit your stuff and I'll have my husband print all of the stories off-without titles. Then I'll have him print off some e-published short stories off of some websites. We will mix them up and then I will order the stories according to how likely I think it is that the story is the real published one. Can you guys fool me? Plus when it's all over I'll give you the things that tipped me off about your story if there were any. Here's are the guidelines:

*Needs to be no greater than 100 words. If you want to submit a longer story just cut off the 100 words that you want me to read, and submit those. I'll have my husband do the same to the published stories, simply to save on paper!

*No Cussing

*No Pornographic material

*No Gay/Lesbian

Some tips on how to prepare your work for this contest:

*Pick out some of your favor authors and transcribe the first chapter or so of their work. It will show you how the pro's use allegory, style, ect. (Make sure to do this with many different authors-we don't want to copy any particular person, just grab a few pointers here and there) I did this, and it REALLY REALLY help me!

*Read daily (novel, ezines, the types of things you want to write) Example: If I want to publish a children's novel reading books like the Narnia series, and Harry Potter and studying their writing techniques will help me.

*I'm not talking about copying their plot!!!! I'm talking about learning about the tools they use to illustrate their plot. There's a HUGE difference there.

*Be original! Why would somebody want to pay money to read a story that is boring, or talks about something that's been done to death. (If you're writing has the what I call, "Romeo and Juliet Syndrome" think of a way to make it different, to stand out. Just because YOU care about it, doesn't mean that someone else will.
Romeo loves Juliet, they can't be together, so they kill themselves- okay how many times have we seen this done? Now Romeo who a British soldier and Juliet who is a german Jew trapped in a consentration camp. That actually might be interesting- even if it is similar to the original!

Okay, good luck to everyone!

This is a cool idea, but the word count restriction and lack of swearing makes it incredibly difficult.
