'The kind of humor I like is that which makes me laugh for five seconds and think for ten minutes' - William Davis
I would like to read humorous stories that are exactly what that quote encompasses - funny, but serious.
To me, these are stories that are satires, parodies or contain situational humor (an awkward moment or action given a light-hearted interpretation).
I don't want to read random 'silliness' or even adult-rated jokes, but rather cleverly constructed stories that utilize elements such as wit, sarcasm, or wry comedy, and demonstrate a wide repartee and understanding of the subject matter.
RULES:
* No jokes or one-liners. Must be a story please.
* No crude or crass material - smut and 'toilet-humor' are not welcome in this contest.
* It's a story, so please at least attempt to use grammar.
* Short story length, preferrably 300 - 3000 words.
* No chatspeak or sticky caps - they don't belong in proper writing.
Finally... make me laugh, but also make me muse about how clever your story was constructed.
Any questions, please ask. Thank you.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 21, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100
- Final notes: Thank you all for your entries. Though a couple of people ignored some of the guidelines, the stories, for the most part, were enjoyable to read. I judged stories not just on entertainment value, but also how well you understood your subject matter, as well as the originality of the premise.

Sure hope mine is 'K. It's a satire on the degradation of the English language on the internet (computer games specifically). And it's old, so might be a little rusty and not as deep as some of my new stuff. xD
Hope ya enjoy.
