I've been entering contests on this site for just under 8 months now - and have amassed a total of 124 medals - and frequently exasperate most of my friends by recounting how many golds I have or how many contests I have won recently.
So what's the point of this contest?
Well... I figured it's time to give something back to my friends - and though I've held plenty of contests and given away nearly as many trophies as I have won, in all fairness my friends often miss the cut.
This contest is for my friends. I have over 80 on my friends list here on Storywrite - some of you I've known for a while, and others I have welcomed to the site recently.
To enter this contest, you MUST appear on my friends list. In some respects this is an 'invite only' contest - being that if your credentials meet my criteria, you are hereby invited to enter. Please don't send me a 'friend' request just to enter this contest either - because that would defeat the purpose of this contest.
I also know for a fact that I have some very talented writers on my list - so here's a chance to enter a contest without needing to compete with me for that elusive gold.
RULES:
1. MUST appear on my friends list.
2. Story can be prewritten. I can have read it before or even commented on it. In fact, the winner will be chosen based on how much I enjoy the story, so if you know I like a story it would be a good idea to enter it.
3. Stories under 4000 words please. DO NOT bore me.
4. Genre restrictions: no graphic erotica, and no angsty emo crap. Everything else is welcome.
5. Please make sure the story is at least proofed and edited. I have a low tolerance for consistently poor grammar, shocking spelling and non-existent punctuation. It is also not a good way to interest me in possibly reading more of your writing.
6. Sticky caps and netspeak will result in you being unceremoniously dumped from my friends list and ignored for the term of your natural life.
7. Please add a comment to this contest telling me why your story should get gold. I can't be bribed, but the begging will at least entertain me. Feel free to complain about whatever contest I last whupped your ass in.
8. Think carefully about what you enter. I have preferences for certain genres from certain SW authors, so don't just enter a random story.
Stories will be judged on orginality, entertainment value and adherence to the rules.
I will be closing this contest at the end of the month.

- Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 250, Bronze: 150, Honorable mention: 3 people

It deserves to win 'cause it got beaten at the last minute in the contest of yours I wrote it for. Plus I know you love it, you spotlighted it.
-
Hmmm ... I don't know that you particularly like any of my stories ..
..
But.

There are three stories I would submit for this. LUCKY...because it is one of MY personal favorites...
PALISADES PARK...because I don't think you ever read it; it is an excellent story (in MY humble opinion...and
PINEAPPLE GROVE...This is another of my favorites and rarely understood stories.
I think no one of the above would bore you, but I shall submit PALISADES PARK. Again, because I do not think you read this...and because it has NEVER won anything. (I think I may have submitted it only once)
Thanks,

Am I your friend?

You gave a good comment to a few of my stories, including a prose piece and an unfinished story. Are these acceptable entries?

Sure - but feel free to enter anything that you think I might like.

Hm. My story deserves to win because it's dark, deep and explores both greed and selflessness in an experimental world. Also there's freakishly cool torture.
-
Mine should win because I've went through and edited it numerous times.
hope you enjoy.
