OKG's Halloween Special: A Sanguineous October

It's October. And that means Halloween is just around the corner. The day when all Hell breaks loose and the demons come out to play. And then there's the scary stuff.

So, in the spirit (and cliche) of Halloween contests, I'd like for you to write me a Halloween story. There is only one catch: it must be gory. Now, don't just throw in someone randomly getting their head chopped off. Make it meaningful and brutal, make it realistically supernatural. And make it tasteful - though sanquineous.

I believe that the idea is pretty straightforward and easily understandable. But, there will always be the dreaded rules! No worries, this is far less demanding than some of those other contests.

Rules
[1] Cuss, swear, and eat your heart out. Go for it. Make it gritty and dirty, make it messy. Just not in structure. make sure it fits.

[2] Grammar, spelling, punctuation, and structure are not mandatory, but requested. Try your best and I'll be happy.

[3] Blood, blood, blood. Non-bloody stories will be DQed.

[4] Minimum Word Entry: I know you hate it, but there is a minimal entry length. It's only 300 words. You can make that, I'm certain of it.
Maximum Word Entry: Simply because I have work and various other matters on my hands that will consume time, I'll have to limit the length of the stories. Nothing over 5,000 words. If you really, really, really want to go over it, then do it and just put a note in your Author's Notes stating why you wanted to.

Ok, that about sums it up. So let's get to writing now! Oh, and, per usual, the point value will go up - but only if enough people enter. The more stories entered, the more points (and trophies) I'll give out. So do it!
