FIRE, FIRE, FIIIRE!
-"Set Fire to the Face on Fire," by The Blood Brothers
After sitting on an overabundance of points, I've finally come up with some contest ideas so I can redistribute my wealth. One of them was this, a series of contests based on various elements. I plan to do at least six of these, but we'll see how my points hold up.
The premise is fairly simple: just enter stories that have fire as a main or integral or poignant component of your stories. Entries will be graded not only on the quality of the writing and storytelling but also on the effective use of fire in your story and the quality of your ideas and originality.
There are no word limits, but it's only one entry per person, so make your contribution to the contest your best. I'm also opening this to fanfics, but be warned, it could count against you if I'm not familiar with the fandom, through the simple fact that I won't be able to fully grasp the universe (sometimes).
Basic Rules:
-Please proofread to the best of your abilities, and possibly consult others to beta-proofread your work.
-No plagiarism or I cut off your thumbs.
-Erotica is welcome! But it better be good, dammit.
-I will do my best to comment on every entry, but I'm going through tricky times at the moment, so we shall see. I'll definitely comment on all winners.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 26, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 350, Silver: 200, Bronze: 125, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: Well, I'm sorry this took so long to conclude, and that I didn't get to comment on entries as much as I had originally planned. >_< A lot of stuff has been going on lately in my personal and professional life, and things are really only just now sort of settling down.
Either way, I enjoyed the turnout of this contest, and the variety represented in the entries. It was difficult to sort out which story got which, as many of the stories were good for different reasons. =( I wish StoryWrite's awards system had the option to be a bit more specific about things, but anyway. Thank you to everyone who entered, and I look forward to doing more contests in this series in the very near future! Hope to see you there!
