Hey there.
I haven't been online in ages, because I've only just got my internet back up... So I though I ought to do my wifely duty to StoryWrite and start a new contest:
Basically, I love imagery, particularly UNUSUAL imagery.
I love to see old clichés re-worked.
I love to see ordinary objects made shiny and new by utilising unusual collocation or vivid description.
SO... I would like see poems and stories (stories are definitely preferable) which use interesting imagery. I don't really care about genre, and if you really feel the need to swear your fingers off then that's fine by me too.
I have very few rules, but please adhere to them, because otherwise I WILL disqualify you. Sorry to be a pedant, but I want high quality imagery here:
1) - Please make sure your spelling and grammar is clean. If there are minor typos I'll let you off, because everybody makes mistakes, but consistent errors will be pointed out to you as I judge, and if you don't amend it once I have commented I'll disqualify you.
2) - No rubbish imagery. You can tell me which paragraph/stanza/line you particularly like in the Author's notes if you like, but if the whole thing tastes like dishwater I won't be best pleased.
3) - Please read ond comment on either one of MY stories, or one of your FELLOW COMPETITORS' stories and tell me which one in the Author's Notes. Failure to do so will lead to disqualification.
Otherwise, just have fun with this, and you can enter twice, but please no more than twice, since i once ran a competition where one lovely lady won nearly ALL of the prizes, and that's not fair.
Thank you.
