Make me believe in love

Give me your love stories. I suppose I have always been a cynical believer of love, even though a part of me knows it exists. People say this happens when you have been hurt in love or you don’t see love in your family. I must say I can claim none of these reasons for being so sarcastic about love. On the contrary my parents are the only Romeo and Juliet I have ever seen. Sadly I just don’t see that in any one else’s relationship, even the ones that seemed so promising in the beginning fail after the initial joy/lust bubble bursts.

Sigh, enough of my gloomy ramblings. I want you to write me love stories. It doesn’t matter if it has a sad or happy ending. The story that manages to touch my jaded heart would win.

Rules
1.Stories should be less than 4000 words.
2.Answer one of the questions below in your Author’s notes. You can agree or disagree. Doesn’t matter to me either way. Just answer.
Option 1: Love at first sight? Wouldn’t it be more sensible if it was lust at first sight?
Option 2: Love is the culmination of all emotions. Huh?
Option 3: If you hadn’t cried you haven’t loved. True? False?
Option 4: Love is fiction not reality. Simple conditional probability refutes the idea of one true love, right?
Option 5: You haven’t lived if you hadn’t experienced love. Really?
Option 6: You'll have to look for love to find love.
3. One entry per person

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on September 11, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 150, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50
  • Final notes:
Thank you all for the wonderful entries to the contest and your comments on my options of love quotes. The most favourite one seems to be that there is no love at first sight even though most of the writers believe that there could be love in time. Again thanks to all the contest entrants for another successful contest. I enjoyed reading and commenting on the stories

I can't possibly write a good love story but I can tell you to watch the movie "corpse bride" by tim burton. It is amazing. and it gives you hope in love. At least me. ^^

Oh, I watched it but I thought it was sad that the corpse bride didnt get someone to love her. The movie made me think that some people dont get anyone to love them, no matter how hard they try. It's good that it gave you hope though. People sometimes see the same thing yet perceive it so differently right?

ah. never though about it that way. I guess your right. bad example. well.. what about The Holiday? that is a happy ending isn't it?
        must give you some hope..

Or perhaps I could tell you my story. I've never had much hope in ever finding someone. Not matter how much I wished.
And yet now I have someone. And I love him.

do believe in love. It does exist. And you will find it.

Um, I dont know that one. Will check it out sometime. My problem is perhaps one with the way I think. You see, I've had boyfriends and for some reason I end up pairing them up with one of my friends who I think is more appropriate for them. I've never cried over any of my exes. Indeed I become close friends with them. When others talk all gooey love stuff I guess I feel like I am missing on something and jumping around uselessly like a butterfly from one flower to another. But I dont really have a clue where to go finding what I am missing or what I am even missing in the first place.

Do so ^^ It is a wonderfull movie in my eyes. You seem to bring happiness to your friends though, not that that is any comfort I guess. All I can say is that when you least expect it you'll find "the one for you" ^^
