Monsters of Mankind.

I have been toying with a contest idea and finally decided to put it into action. This is my first contest and I have limited points so please work with me.

I have been reading alot of books that deal with entities that have plagued mankind throughout the ages. Whether it be mythology, fiction or even real animals, I find it all captivating. So, here is what I would like for you to do.

Write a story that has to do with terrible beings. It could be creatures that haunt your dreams or have made appearences in mythology, such as dieties, malign gods or urban legends. It could even be about the strange alien-like creatures that inhabit the oceans. As long as it is something dark and ominouse to the world of man. If you have read any Lovecraft than I'm sure you have a general idea.

I understand that human kind itself is a monster and if you can play with that idea than go for it.

As with any contest there are rules:

1)I will not allow any stories on vampires or werewolves. I'm sorry but these things have been overplayed and, in my opinion, are no longer considered original.

2)I understand that grammer is sometimes difficult and I will not be too harsh. Just be sure that your work has an easy flow and I don't find myself getting confused trying to read it.

3)As long as you don't have a completely terrible onslaught of spelling errors, I will forgive a few mistakes.

4)Absolutely NO text talk, sticky caps or anything of the sort. This is a place for stories and unless it is imperitive to the tale, I don't want to see it.

5)Pre-writes are accepted and you are welcome to add a new story if you wish.

Ok. Those are the rules. I hope you enjoy this contest.

As long as your monsters are dark and be considered a plague upon mankind then it can be either.

I'm curious, I have a story about monsters of mankind, haha, bit of a play on words, zombies to be precise, it's a parody. That 'K to enter? It's not dark, but it is about monsters of mankind, haha. Just thought I'd check before I went ahead and entered.
