Music can be such a good outlet and even better it can be a good inspiration! I love music with meaning and so I made up a list of songs I think have deep meaning... Don't worry about constantly checking back, because these are the only songs I will be putting up as options... Some of these are harder to find the meaning behind, so ask if you must... I want you to take the deep meaning and make me a deep story out of it! Just give it a try, hmm? ^^ I'm hoping for a lot of entries so here is the list of songs:
1) Maroon 5- She will Be Loved**
2) Black Eyed Peas- Where is the love?*
3) Kenny Loggins- Return to Pooh Corner~~~
4) Blue October- Hate Me*
5) Guns N’ Roses- Every Rose has It’s Thorn
6) P.O.D.- Youth of the Nation
7) Goo Goo Dolls- Iris*
8) Lee Ann Womack- I Hope You Dance~
9) Eminem- When I’m Gone
10) Blink 182 - Stay Together for the Kids
11) Nickelback- If Everyone Cared**
12) Journey- Don’t Stop Believin’~
13) Jet- Shine On
14) Lonestar- I’m Already There~
The ones with a * next to them means that they are used, but you can still use them. But if they don't have a * then they are worth BONUS COOKIES!!!!!
The ones I REALLY wanna read a story on are the ones with the ~ after their name!!!!
Okay Rules:
1- enter as many times as you want
2- no prewrites
3- only use the songs provided
4- NoNe Of ThIs SiLlY sTuFf!
5- Erotica is okay if you can make it suit the contest (which prolly won't be easy)
6- Put the title of the song you chose in the author's notes
7- No you don't have to do anything silly just so I know you will read the rules, because I know even people who do read the rules forget to do that and it makes em look bad >.< But if you want to jump up and down then spin in three circles it certainly would amuse me ^^
8- Have Fun!
P.S. This contest may be up a while, because I want a story for as many of the song options as possible!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 21
- Rewards: Gold: 200, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: Sorry it took so long to judge, there has been SOOO much going on in my life lately. Anyway, all the entries were good, but I liked these one especially. So why did they win?
Gold Winner: Captured the songs meaning amazingly well and also chose the song rewarding bonus cookies ^^ It developed the bond of a father and his son, and also took a glance into the innocence of youth.
Silver Winner: Also portrayed the song's meaning amazingly well, and the message it tries to get across is a good one. The symbolism is good, and all in all it's a good story.
Bronze Winner: Portrayed the song's true meaning, though it was a short piece. It showed the lengths a person would take for the person they love, without expecting anything in return. It was touching and full of hope.
Honorable Mention #1: It was a wonderful poem that REALLY gets you to thinking about the world. Each scenario has happened in the past before and is still happening and it really makes you think "Where is the love?"
Honorable Mention #2: This story fit the song, to a the degree I expected it to, and the characters are very developed. I can understand both points of view and sympathize with each of the two.
All the entries were good, but these ones stuck out. These ones lingered a while longer. So thank you all for you entries and participation in my contest!
~Adelaide Blood

Guns N Roses didn't write Every Rose Has It's Thorn.
...I don't think, anyway... -
-
yeah,, i like their version
but i think poison -who also did an amazing job- is the cover artist
-
-
Every Rose has it's thorn is a Poison Song
-
-
yeah
see, i knew it ^^ lol... both versions are great though!

-
Hi
I'd like to enter.It's great idea -
-
^^ thank you
and if you do enter than good luck to you!

Actually, Gun's N' Roses never did an official version of the song. Poison wrote it, and it is a quitessential part of their catalgue. The song you are thinking of is Patience from GNR which was on the Lies record. They both have a similar feel to them. But I am very sure GNR did not do a cover version of that song, and I know they did not write it, Brett Michaels wrote it as response to a break up he had just gone through.
-
-
guns n roses did do a version though
Nah it wasn't Patience, despite that bein a good piece too, and I'm aware of Brett Michaels being the one who wrote it... I'm into that kinda stuff ^^ I dunno how much VH1 you watch, but they actual had Brett Michael featured on it once, and they did a special on it, where they spoke of Every Rose has Its Thorns...

Wow. A lot of good choices...but which one to choose....

Let me know if you open to prewrites, please.
Also, I'd like to enter a write using 'Move Along' by the All American Rejects.

I love this contest, but I just thought I'd say:
1) I love your songs.
and 2) It's House at Pooh Corner- Kenny Loggins.
That's a really sad song, and I didn't know many people knew it. I'll try and see if I can get something written. <3

I'm almost positive it's House at Pooh Corner. It's a song at my camp and that's what it goes by. I googled it before just to check, and I'm pretty sure I'm right.. But definitely an amazing song. (=
