Alright, so I have been amassing these points for a while, and while that's fun, it's time to share the wealth. Contests!
I like options contests myself, they seem to inspire me when I am suffering writer's block or give me a chance to run familiar characters through new scenarios that I would have never thought of. *grins* Here are some of the things I have written about over the years that I would love to see some other perspectives on.
Option 1: You (or your character) have been in a relationship for a few years now, in spite of this the other person still seems distant and secretive, and the relationship has stalled, and any time the topic is broached they insist everything is fine. You love them, but it's getting very difficult. So... what next?
Option 2: You (or a character, not picky) find yourself in love with a married woman (or man) who seems happy. The two of you are fiends and they have no idea about your feelings, but over time it seems they are less and less happy, coming to you more and more discontent for advice.
Option 3: Two people are very close, but something happens that changes the perspective about how one sees the other forever. (This can go any way you want, but bonus points if it tears them apart.)
Option 4: You come back home, and for some reason everyone was convinced you were dead and not coming back. It's only been six months, but you find everyone's moved on, even your significant other of three years who is already seriously involved with someone else. (yes you could have really died, if you want to play it that way.)
Okay so it should be fairly obvious that I write a lot in the tested love genre. *another grin* But sometimes drama is fun. I am open to gay, lesbian, and erotica. It's your muse, though I do not think that the situations call for the last.
I'll put up more options if these don't seem to be inspiring. Okay Rules...
1) NoNe Of ThIs CrAp. I have NEVER seen it on this site, and I really like that fact. Save it for the kids chat rooms.
2)Prewrites are allowed, but they really have to fit in the options outlined.
3)If I can't read it, I won't. Color coordinating isn't difficult, and it may be the best piece of writing ever, but I won't suffer a headache for it.
4)Not everyone is an expert at spelling and grammar, and though I am the LAST person to come down on someone because of it, there IS a spell check button, it's your pal, mine too. Please use it.
5) more then 300 words please, keep it under oh say 2000, if you absolutely MUST go over, then make it worth my while.
Have fun!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on August 7, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 150, Silver: 100, Bronze: 75, Honorable mention: 1 people
- Final notes: I am going to start by saying thank you to everyone who entered. When I started this contest, I was afraid that I wouldn't get a single entry. It's safe to say that I was pretty blown away by the amazing response I had to this contest! Each entry took the chosen scenario and played it out in a different and interesting way, showing me new possibilities and giving me a lot to think about.
This was a difficult contest to judge, and I gave a lot of thought to the awards. In the end, it was just a matter of what stuck with me the most.
Thank you for helping me break up the stress of finals!

Does it have to be romantic love? can it be friendship?
-
-
It can be friendship. You aren't restricted to just romantic love.
-
-
Ah, I absolutely love this contest! I'll see if I can come up with something.

*Frozen Angel* -
-
Awesome. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
-
-
Does it have to exactly be a story or can it be a reflection or more of a memoir?
-
-
No, stories based upon the scenarios, reflections and memoirs are fine. The options are more about plot, not writing style.
-
-
Just curious, if I pick option 4, can I write about a character or does it have to be me?
-
-
Well I put it in the first two options that it could be you or a character, and I meant it for every option listed. I just didn't keep writing that because I didn't want to compulsively put (or a character) after every you. *grins* Sorry for the confusion.

It's okay! I just wanted to ask... ^_^ Its better to ask than write something and later find out I didn't follow the rules, lol.

I'll definitely come back for this... I just hope I can focus my mind and finish in time.
-
-
I hope so too, I am really digging all the entries so far, and would love to see what you can come up with.

Thank You!
Thanks so very much for the gold trophy and all the points. I appreciate them. I'm very pleased you like my story. I enjoyed writing it for this contest. It was a challenge.
Thanks for hosting this contest.
