Well I have done a few contests here now and thankfully they have all gone well! So this time I have decided to do another and with some big points up for grabs! The only catch this time is I want fresh writes only - no prewrites. I have tried to give you 6 options that are a bit different from all the usual ones you see. Remember good writing is what I am really looking for and you don't have to stick exactly to the options they are just ideas to inspire you!
So here are the 6 options to choose from:
Option 1 - 100 words
Write me a 100 word (by SW counter) story or poem describing an emotion - any emotion you want. I'm looking for the most detailed, descriptive, absorbing 100 words I've ever read!
Option 2 - Sliding Doors
You have seen the film with Gwyneth Paltrow - Sliding Doors right? The one where just by missing her train one day every event afterwards turns out differently thereafter. But also we see how things turn out if she had got on that train? Well I want a story based on this idea. Take a real life experience or a fictional one and write me a story from two sides - how things turn out if one event just didn't happen and how they turn out if it did. If you need any more info on the film have a look here for the plot summary - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120148/plotsummary
Keep it less than 2000 words.
Option 3 - Your favourite song
I have seen a lot of contests here getting you to write a story based on a song. But that's not what I want! I want you to tell my why your favourite song is your favourite. What is it about the lyrics or the music that makes it so great? How does it make you feel when you hear it? Is it a happy or sad song, light hearted or deep? What does it make you think about when you hear it? Does it take you back to a memory? What memory? Write me around 500-1000 words telling me everything about it!
Option 4 - Fly on the wall
Ever wished you could be a fly on the wall in a certain situation and see or hear everything that was being said? Maybe being said about you or about someone else? Maybe just seeing what people were doing when you weren't there? Write me a story based on real or fictional ideas about being a fly on the wall. What do you see and hear? Is it what you expect? Keep it under 2000 words.
Option 5 - Have a rant!
Have a rant about anything you want! Just write it well! Why does it annoy you so much? It could be a current affair, an attitude people have, anything you want! I want all the details in 1000 words or less.
Option 6 - Starry Eyed
Give me 500 words or less on that starry eyed feeling that is love. I want magical decriptions on love, how your heart flutters and misses beats, how do you decribe the feeling that is love?
RULES
Stick to the word limits given for each option.
You can use the option as an idea for inspiration or stick right to it - I don't mind.
Don't write LiKe DiZ even though I've never seen anyone who does!
Don't over use swearing or erotica.
No prewrites.
Put which option you are using in your authors notes.
You can enter as many times as you like!
Only reserve a space if you are actually going to finish what you started!
