This is my first contest and I know that I surely should have done a contest a long time ago, but I didn't find that I had anything to bring to the table and now I do.
I want you to write me a story about from your perspective where someone that was famous or someone that you know died and you have the chance to bring them back or stop their death, but it costs you your life. I want you to show me what the character goes through on this journey. Why he/she is doing it? What is going through their minds?
Make it powerful and show us a great story.
Now the rules:
1. Please nOtHiNg like this. Otherwise, I will ask you to redo it.
2. Please make the story within 5000 words, if you can. If the story keeps me interested, I will forgo this rule.
3. You can write a poem as well, but if you do, please make it good.
4. Have fun!
Thanks,
DarkOne

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on August 10, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 250, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: I'm glad that you all were able to bring stories that were genuine and full of emotion.
I knew that it was a difficult subject and sacrificing your life for someone else has been
a subject of noble heroism and much skepticism, and yet you all gave me stories that were new insights into this idea.
Thank you all for entering and I wish you all the best of luck in your writing. You all have talent, especially if you entered my contest.
Thanks again,
DarkOne

Hey I actually wrote something for your contest, but it's somewhat long and I'm not sure if it fits exactly with your topic. I mean, it meets requirements...but not to a tee. If you have time to check it out and tell me if it's valid (I don't know if this is correct protocol but it never hurts to ask, right?), then please do. The story's title is "April." Thanks and I look forward to hearing what you think. -
I am mid-story right now for this contest.
I really like the idea.
I'm almost done, then I'll post it.
