Be Creative With A Sentence-Starter

This contest holds 10 sentence-starters for you to choose one. You can do whatever you want with the sentence.

What I am looking for is a good story teller/writer who got a good head full of imagination. I am looking for something really, really, blow-me-off-my-seat CREATIVE. Like so CREATIVE you can't believe you actually made the damn thing up. So, I dare you to come up with you can imagine out of your mind. Just jumble that head of yours, mix all your shit, and make an awesome story ever!!!

I dare you to go and try!

R-U-L-E:

1. Word limit: No more than 2000 words. Even if it's 2001, I am tossing it out the window like it's shit. Thank you. (I prefer if you can do more than 1000 words.)

2. No TyPiNg LiKe ThIs!!!

3. No Da', or Thaa, or I'ma, or Ditz. Whatever. Please don't talllllk like you are chatting on AIM. If you are gonna use them, keep them in dialogue. Not in your writing.

4. NO WHINING CHARACTERS!!! I can't stand whining people. I met too many of them in my life. "I hate it when people do this or that" "Nobody told me that I can do that or this." None of this, please.

5. Grammar in your story needs to be CLEAR and NEAT!

6. Just be C-R-E-A-T-I-V-E !!! Like think out of your box! (Themes, writing style, characters, story plot, how you present your story, whatever you got!)

7. No prewrite, since I am giving out such big points. And since I want everyone to have fair competition. I think that's all. Anyway, have fun! Relax, it's not hard!!!

8. Pick ONE sentence-starter! And put them as the very first sentence of your story.

  • Nice. I like.

  • By the way, can our story be something really off the wall and spastic? Like some elves trippin' out in twinkie land? LOL.

    Wow, great contest here.
    Are multiple entries allowed?

  • Why is it always an old mansion that's supposed to be creepy? The creepiest house I ever saw was a small, single-story building with peeling blue paint.

    • Ha, then join my contest and tell me how creepy a small, single-storied building can be!

  • Oh man, I made a mistake with #3 sentence-starter. It should be "One night, I looked out the window and I saw the neighbor..."

  • Oh and I am bacckkkkk!!! Did anyone miss me? Nope, i guess not. =)

To warn all of you guys, be careful with the word limit. Recently, I won silver in other contest, but i am very disappointed in the judge, for she said the word limit is 1500 or less while she awards a guy whose story was 1600 WL.

This is one of a reason I created this contest, to creative a fair competition. A warning to make you guys know. If your story is over 2000, I apologize you might not get anything from this contest because it wouldn't be fair to others who followed the rule.

    Thank you,
    The Blue Road
