"What?" You ask "Describe the picture to you??" Yes, ladies and gentlemen, that's right. I want you to describe the picture to me. I've seen plenty of contests with images that say "Don't describe it, we can see what it is, use it as inspiration" and I wanted something different. Now, of course, you'll have to use it as inspiration too, but describe it to me. Give the image a story behind it. I just found this picture online, I know nothing of it. Why was the picture taken? Give the character a background. What was he/she (yes, I realize it appears to be a 'he,' but that doesn't mean it HAS to be a he)feeling? I want you to get so creative with this! You don't have to use the person in the picture as your protagonist. They do have to be in there, but not as the main character. Hell, your character could be the photographer that took the image.
[(*)] RULES [(*)]
[X] Use the image above for your story.
[X] I want STORIES not POEMS. This is a STORY contest, and there are more than enough poem contests. Not to mention that this is STORY Write
[X] Erotica is welcome (any type, preferably gay ), as is profanity. Just don't go overboard on the profanity, and completely lose the meaning and effect of the story.
[X] Any type or genre of story is welcome.
[X] You may use sticky caps (StIcKy CaPs). But I would suggest you don't. It's annoying as hell, and I more than likely I won't make it through an entire story of that. You won't score on my good side using those, and they take forever to do. I don't know why anyone would choose to type something in sticky caps.
[X] You may enter as many times as you like. But no prewrites--no exceptions. I doubt you have any prewrites for this image already, and if you do, how are you ever supposed to advance and progress in your writing if you continually enter the same stories over and over, and never write anything new?
[X] Please be sure to proofread for any mistakes. I know sometimes it can be hard to find your own mistakes, but at least try.
[X] Use proper grammar. I won't be sitting here with a grammar book looking up everything, but use some common sense. Don't say something like "I seen that movie" unless it's quoting someone. Improper usage of the word "seen" probably annoys more than anything.
[X] Length, please, no more than 10,000 words, and I will be checking. That should be plenty long enough.
[X] Make this story your own. Do whatever you want with it. Manipulate and mold this story into your own creation; your child. This is your contest, so show me your individuality, originality, and creativity.
[X] Remember, it's only a friendly, online contest. So, HAVE FUN!!
I think that's it for now.
Due to previous contest experiences, I am going to be a total rule-nazi on your ass, so you've been warned. If I feel your piece does not fit the qualifications, I will give you one warning and three days to respond to it, otherwise, it's out. You can blame that on over thirty entries out of around fourty-five from my last contest.
If any changes are made after I've commented on it, please let me know, and I will reread.
I understand the prizes aren't very high, however I hope to fix that problem soon. Any points I acquire between now and the closing of the contest will go into this contest, first, second, third, and honorable mentions. Donations are accepted, but know that it won't win any favors as far as your writing goes. I will however look to you as a kind, giving person.
Feel free to IM me with any questions incase there's anything I missed.
Without further ado, I leave you to the contest. You may begin.

- Contest was judged on August 21, 2006
- Rewards: Gold: 120, Silver: 50, Bronze: 30
- Final notes: I was hoping for more entries, but I got some great ones anyway! Thanks to everyone who entered! Sorry it took so long for me to judge (I didn't know how...). Good luck in future writing my loves!!!
First - A Dark Love - short, sweet, simple, and ever-so loving. Leaves the reader with a nice warm feeling, and also sets the imagination on fire! Congratulations!!
Second - Picture - Very nicely written, very detailed, and very hot! Shows a great relationship between the characters! Congratulations!!
Third - Kiss of Death - Very sweet and left a very good message at the end. A very good friend of mine said this today, 'a story with a moral suddenly becomes twice as powerful.' He's a very smart friend, and is definatly right in this quote. Congratulations!!
Thanks Everybody! And IvoryRose for helping me figure out how to judge!!
