Okay, I’ve always been into fantasy, but recently realised that apart from vampires, I didn’t really know much about the fantasy genre. So I decided to hold a contest in search for the best fantasy stories around- the more original the better.
Prewrites are allowed, and you can enter any type of fantasy, but I prefer if you actually try and enter something new- brownie points! Anyways, if you want to enter something new I have a few prompts for you…
1.An elegant masquerade ball
2.Shards of glass falling from midnight skies
3.A silver pocket watch suspended on a long chain
4.Coppery golden trees in autumn
5.A lonely beach
6.A sparkling glass rose
Fairly simple contest to enter, but I really want people to use the prompts and come up with something new. The most interesting fantasies are the ones which are original, and written with a lot of descriptions, so keep that in mind when entering.
Moving onto rules-
1.Absolutely no erotica
2.Anything above 500 words is fine, but please try to keep it below 5000
3.Do not enter chapters of anything- chances are I won’t be able to understand the story from whichever point your story is at anyway.
4.Check your grammar and spelling before entering anything- mistakes like that just give me the impression you’re being careless with your writing
And that's about it- have fun, and enjoy.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on June 13, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 200, Silver: 150, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: Wow- this was such a hard contest to judge, and that's why it took me so long. I enjoyed everyone's entries, and was really amazed at the originality in all of them. A bit disappointed at the lack of new entries for this contest though- were my prompts really that hard or was everyone just feeling lazy? Lol anyway I had so much fun reading everyone's works. Thanks for entering!
