We were lacking contests with a wide range of subject matter, so here one goes.
First the subject or choices. I want you to write anything, erotica, romance, horror, satire, whatever you want as long as it is a story. No poetry. This contest is about diversity however so I want a good mix. I hope this gives people a chance to enter work that wouldn't fit into any other contest.
Now because this is so broad and it's going to be tough to judge, so here are the guidelines:
1. I want creativity. If it's not original in some way I don't want to read it, and it won't advance.
I'd appreciate staying away from the cliche, unless you can do it with exceptional style.
2. I want a very descriptive style. If you're the kind of writer who only the writes the when and how, it's time to add the where and who in great detail. I want to feel like I'm there.
3. Try to make the writing mature. This sounds very broad, but hey it's a theme.
4. The characters should be well developed. I want a great setting and plot, but if I don't feel I know your characters, then what's the point?
Those are the guidelines for now, that's what I'll be looking for, along with flow and word choice, and other such obvious things. I might add more, but that should cover it for the most part.
So now the dreaded rules:
1. Try to have descent grammar and spelling, if it's too hard to read because of your spelling or grammar I won't.
2. If you have a backgound, then make the text readable, if I can't read it I won't try. Sorry
3. Don't do all ThIs StUfF...it makes me angry and you get disqualified.
4. Try (this isn't required) to comment on someone else's work in the contest. This contest is meant to foster diversity, let's really make it work. If you comment on mine or someone else's in the contest's work then you've really made this count.
5. Be courteous, no flaming comments on people's works, this will also upset me. The content may not appeal to you but that is no reason to offend someone.
6. Do your best and have fun.
Alright so now for awards. For now I'm only placing 100 points on first place. I am trying to get the points to add a second and third prize reward too. If I don't get them, then you just get the trophy, sorry. If I get enough points I want some honorable mentions as well. Overall the points will change as I accumulate some.
If you would like to donate points to the contest that would be appreciated, it won't however in any way sway my judging.
Update: Thank you to Mad Hatter for donating to the contest. As promised points have been added for second and third place winner.
Honorable mentions also added. Good luck.
Good luck to you, and have fun.

Hey,
Believe me I am all for diversity, but I really havn't gotten to writing a diverse story yet. I'm planning on writing one though, just not now.
So this is the best I've got, I submitted "Three Sisters"
