The Fire Within.

Good Evening. So my last two contests sucked majorly so I am going to try to redeam myself with this one. So basically I am going to give you a few great options that are conducive to a great story and/or novel. Pick one of them and either write a new story or enter a pre-write on that option. Pretty simple yes? Okay here are your options.

1. A battle between good and evil. Two individuals one good one evil. Anyone who has seen an epic fight scene in a movie or game knows what I'm talking about. Try to describe the setting, make the good charachter seem awesome, and show me how the antagonist is evil. (Special kudos if at least one if not both of the charachters is a woman.)

2. A great horror survival story. Think Resident Evil but also try to think outside the box. Make it your own and make it interesting.

3. A lost love story. You know I once loved this person so much and now their gone. Try to invoke as much emotion as possible and try to make the ending as well as the body interesting.

4. A sci-fi story! Try to take this one as far as you can go; make it interesting and try to come up with a concept I haven't heard of.

That about covers the options now on to the rules.

1. Keep spelling and grammor errors to a minimum.

2. No religion bashing.

3. Keep swearing to a minimum (i.e. not every third word.)

4. Length wise I like to read stories at least 1500 words. If it's less than that it better be damn good!

5. Put your option and your ideal date in the author notes so I know you've read this.

note: I will give extra attention and kudos to those who write a new story for this contest!

Now write well and fast!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on July 12, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 130, Silver: 75, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 4 people
  • Final notes:
I'm sorry that it took so long you guys but a combonation of work and the fact that my internet crashed and burned kept me from finishing. As we speak I am judging this contest from my friends house on his laptop. I just want to say that a lot of people got DQ'd for not following the rules regardless of how awesome their work was. The finalists were those who deserved it and worked hard to make an exellent story. My next contest, I promise will not take so long or be so taxing on the participants. Thank you for some great reads and I hope to see you all again.

Okay, so when I said that I applaud new stories, I meant that I detest overused prewrites. If you've entered a bunch of times but haven't won squat I understand; but If your using this contest as another step on your ladder of fame think again! Please give me new stories, I have given plenty of time to all participants, so use it! I don't mean to be harsh but I am seeing a serious decline in originality.

    GAAAAAAAAAH.
YOU! You said "their gone," instead of "they're gone." 'They're' means 'they are,' 'their' means 'their dog, their car, their problems.'
Please. Fix. But maybe it was just a pesky typo?

Sooooo.... the horror survival one... would that have to be like ghosty stuff or horror like 'WTF' real life kind of a 'fubar' story? Just a question. Looks like an interresting contest. Cuw Cuw.
