Okay, this is my FIRST ever contest on SW… so hopefully it’ll do well…
I can never find enough stories to read, so decided to come up with a contest- simple really…
So here are your options…
Option 1- Vampires…
Now, I know this is quite popular, but I don’t want to read about typical vampire love stories too much- originality goes a long way… I don’t mind what genre it’s in, just so long as there are vampires in it. When writing, try to use a lot of descriptions and emotions- I want to be able to see your story in my mind and to feel your character’s feelings… If you write about blood, I want to be able to smell the blood, taste it with my mind… you get the drift. Descriptions are everything. The more descriptive and emotional you are, the more I’ll enjoy your story! Also, have an interesting storyline please…
Option 2- Horror…
Also quite popular and easy to write…. Mind you I don’t scare easily. I’m sort of the type who laughs during most horror movies- so I want something that’ll give me a good scare- if that’s even possible…. Hint- I’m more into psychological horror rather than actual blood and gore. Again, use a lot of descriptions, and EMOTIONS- it is horror after all. I want you to give me a horror story that’ll really stick with me- the best horrors always stay with you long after you’ve finished reading/watching. I don’t mind if you write a vampire horror- that’s perfectly fine. But a word of advice- I don’t find vampires scary. So if you do decide to write something like that then you’ll have to do a pretty good job of convincing me vampires are scary.
And lastly… Option 3- Supernatural Episodes…
I love Supernatural, so I want to read a story set out like a Supernatural episode- obviously if you’ve never watched the show then this option’s not for you. I’m very picky and critical when it comes to Supernatural, so if you decide to do this option then you’ll have to write it pretty well… When writing Supernatural, obviously use Dean and Sam Winchester. Give me a good, interesting, creative storyline, and try to capture Dean and Sam’s personalities too- that’s VITAL. Which means you’ll have to give the story witty humour, some dark demons, and a killer storyline- not to mention use heaps of descriptions and detail… If you think you can do this, then go for it! Warning- I watch A LOT of Supernatural, so I’ll know if you just simply stole one of the episodes and wrote it down…
Ok, moving onto rules…I’ll try not to have too many…
1. No erotica- sorry, but I don’t see how it can fit into these options. Besides, I’m not a big fan of it and if you do use it in your writing you’ll be disqualified.
2. Please use paragraphs! I can’t stand reading pages and pages of unbroken writing.
3. There’s no word limit, but I don’t want a whole novel. Just make sure it’s a minimum of 500 words.
4. Grammar… doesn’t have to be perfect, but I don’t want too many mistakes and typos. Also, try not to switch your tenses- I pick that up quite easily.
5. If yOu tYpE LiKe tHis… I will hurt you.
And that’s it! Enjoy…
