Summertime

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'

I just put those lyrics in here for the fun of it. The story doesn't have to be anything about the song. I just want it to be set in the summertime. It can be sad, happy, about family, about friends, about a boy, about an animal, whatever you pick.

Like I said, it's up to you, just keep in mind that summertime is a bright time when kids get breaks off and people go on vacation and the sun shines. It doesn't have to be all Laffy Taffy (in fact, I would prefer if it weren't) but don't depress me too much. I do kind of want happy stories. Whatever style of story you pick, make sure there's good imagery. I'm all about imagery these days. (=

RULES:

Keep itunder 1,000 words or I don't guarantee to read it all (in fact if it's 3,000 words or something, I might only get three paragraphs in before I quit). I have a really short attention span.

No erotica/crime/horror/spiritual (as in witchy, supernatural)/sci-fi. DQ guaranteed.

If you enter more than one story, put your screen name in your Notes.

WARNINGS:

I don't like gay/lesbian stories generally. I'm not homophobic, it's just not my genre of choice. But feel free to enter.

I don't like fantasy or vampire usually, but again, feel free to enter.

HINTS:

Summertime is usually a happy time for me so if you'd give me a story that's not depressing it would make me happy. (=

I also like the beach and summer vacations. Just don't make it trite or too slap-happy.

I also like boy/girl stories, just also make sure those aren't predictable or cheesy.

I'll probably add more points...as I get more.
