Write a story on one of the following choices….
The Great Storywrite Murder - Someone is killing off the moderators, and it’s up to you, the writer, to solve the case. Write about the murders (nothing too gory, please)… and follow your own clues to the guilty party.
OR
My Day as a Mod – You’ve been selected to join the Moderator team…. And it’s one heck of a first day!!! Here’s where we see what you think goes on behind the scenes.
Rules… (you had to know there’d be some)
1) Watch your spelling and grammar.
2) No erotica.
3) No degrading the Mods too much. We can take a joke, but if you’re going to be mean-spirited, then it’s really not going to bode well for you… savvy? 
4) New stories only, please. Although, if you have a prewritten one that fits, I’m impressed… but you can’t enter it.
5) Label your entry in the proper categories.
6) One entry per person.
7) Imagination...you got one; use it. 
8) Using other site members names(besides the mods)... can be touchy... and best to get their permission before including. Bashing other members wouldn't be good, either.

- Final notes: It's always interesting to see your own death, and even more interesting to see how many ways you can be killed. I don't think I'll ever look at a cookie the same way again.
Thank you for all the wonderful entries! They were amazing, and I know we all had a blast reading and commenting. Moderators had to give their top three, then HMs.. and points were given to the placement (1st - 4 points, 2nd -3 points, 3rd -2 points, while HMs got 1 point per vote. Add them all up, and we have the placement that we have now!)

Since gold members have the option of showing the entries names, I went with that... plus, mods can find out anyway.
Also, it takes away some of the worry that the entrants have of not being able to reply to comments, etc. This way,t hey can reply all they want.

Tis dead easy for people with free membership to find out who wrote what stories in contests anyway. Just do a SW search for the story name... *Whistles innocently* Meh, doesn't bother me if I know the persons name or not, doesn't matter if they're my best friend, if I don't like the story it ain't winnin'.

The topics are limited because, for the prize payout, we want people to stretch their creativity. Telling them they can write or enter anything isn't much of a challenge, really.

ahhhhhhhhh my eyes are burning ! I got excited reading that there was a competition so I got busy and for the last 2 days I've been typing away at my laptop. 5600 words later and artheritus firmly creeping in I think I'm just going to simply submit my entry and quietly crawl away whimpering for some food, water and sleep.
