Flash Fiction

Hello all!

I was thinking the other day about hosting a contest, and almost immediately I decided I wanted a flash fiction contest.

It doesn't require much explanation.

And subject is okay (though I prefer not to read erotice). I'm not going to give any length requirement, but keep in mind that it is flash fiction so it can't be too incredibly long.

Swearing is okay, but please use it tastefully.

I'm allowing prewrites, but I would prefer a fresh write.

Prizes:
1st place: 100
2nd place: 25
3rd place: 10

Any questions, feel free to ask!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on March 18, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 130, Silver: 50, Bronze: 25, Honorable mention: 6 people
  • Final notes:
Thank you all for making this an amazing contest. I loved reading your stories, and you all really made this contest worthwhile. I upped the point values a bit (one of the advantages of commenting on your stories is that I earned more points to give), and added 6 honorable mentions. I'm sorry it took me so long to judge, but I had the most difficult time deciding between all the amazing stories. Here are the results.

    1st place: City of Angels
2nd place: The Pros and Cons of Being Hit By A Transport Truck
    3rd place: Why I Don't Write Romance

Honorable mentions (in no particular order):
    - Desperate. Call Me.
    - Hunter
    - The Knight
    - On Unfairness
    - Real Agony
    - Dragonaris - The Beginning - Chapter 1

Thank you all again for making this an amazing contest.

It most certainly can be fantasy. As long as it's short, sweet and to the point. =]
