Out of the Shadow

This contest is intended to bring out stories of living under the shadow of someone else. Maybe an older sibling, or even a younger one that is "The favorite" child. It could be a parent that is not appreciative of you and you are finally free to be what you can be {Ugh sounds like a commercial for the US Army]. It can be sweet revenge or just sweet! Writers are free to enter more than one story but, only one can be pre written. If you enter two, then one has to be an original.
Your entry can be any genre real or fiction. PLEASE; if you are entering an erotic piece, identify it so that the readers can choose to read it or pass it up. Remember many of our friends are young teens. It can also be verse or prose. Grammatical errors are a concern but not an overwhelming issue. The better the combination of message and style, the better the rank...of course.
Vent yourself baby! Get back at those who have pressed their thumb against your head. Show them that your new found freedom is both a trophy in life and a trophy at SW!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on March 14, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 3 people
  • Final notes:
There were three trophies and three honorable mentions. a couple I wish I could have rated higher but the competition was good. The three that trophied were prewrites and the three honorable mentions were originals. It was perhaps a little unfair to put originals up against ones that had time to be refined but hopefully it will encourage those entrants to further tweek theirs and submit to other contests. I also loved some of the twists that I had not expected.
