this is my first contest here at storywrite, but i'm a veteran on allpoetry as i have hosted almost forty of them there. sometimes people say and/or write some of grandest things in a few words or a sentence which takes on a deep meaning. i would like to think i have written something in my lifetime that has achieved such a status. i would also like to think you have done the same thing.
this contest will be based on making your own quote. not one that you have heard, nor one that has been stated by someone else. i will provide my own as an example. it says you can repeat it if you would like to quote theDARK1 and you may. you just can't for this particular contest. this is where i want you to think of something powerful on your own to best reflect you. once you do, then you too will have a piece of writing that one day may be quoted by someone else (and that is a great form of flattery).

there you have it. written twice so you can make sure you see it!
guess itz time for some rules.
1. no pre-writes.
2. one entry per poet.
3. this shouldn't be any longer than one sentence.
4. you must meet the requirement as listed in the body of the contest. this is simple to do!
5. closing date will be when i feel like closing it (range can be one day, but not over thirty).
6. i will comment on every entry (this may be during and/or when the contest closes for judging).

- Final notes: this was a tough contest to judge! i took 13 finalists that appealed to me most. they may not be the best submitted, but i liked them. itz like art, itz all in the eye of the beholder. i could have squeezed in a couple of more to the finalists list as i wanted to do, but it was going to be hard enough to choose over half of already. i do thank everyone nd have posted a new contest. if you didn't win here, please try your hand at that contest and there will be four of us judging that one, DARK.
