To get ready for the new American Monster Movie "CLOVERfIELD", I am hosting this contest. If anyone would like to co-joduge, message me.
What I want from you is to write a story that takes place in any major city. It doesn't have to be in a city in New York but if you want to base the story in there then go ahead. Also, I want you to write the story about this monster (let's say that it's about the size of one of the skyscrapers in New York) and it attacks and starts destroying the city but not that quickly. Make it enough so that the army or whatever would have to come in. You can create the monster yourself but make it believable. That's not all.
You need to have at least three or four characters as main characters. More characters will be fine. What I want to know when reading the story is how they plan on escaping the city or decide the leave the entire state. What are their hardships while trying to do so? Do they get injured? Would they go back for anyone that is injured or dying? Does the monster always get in their way?
I will give out extra points if the monster in your story is not that described and not seen by any of your main characters until the very end of the story. I mean that by if the characters and the other people see the damage that this monster is creating and they can hear it making noise like grunts or whatever. Or even if they just catch a tiny glimpse of it. That is what I'm basically looking for in this contest.
For an idea on what I meant in the last paragraph above and what I am looking for, click on the link below. It brings you to a website that has clips and TV Spots of the movie Cloverfield which is what this contest is supposed to be based on. The cliped titled Cloverfield: TV Spot 'Monster' should give you an idea.

*I forgot to put this up before but now, I'm doing it. There's no word limit. Sorry, if I didn't write it before.

We walked leisurely through the crisscrossing streets of New York, poorly navigating our way through the confusing laberynth. It was me, Mark, Jenna, and Sandy. Sandy was the one with the map and who we were all listening to.• Commented on by judge. [remove]

OMG
that movie was so weird, what is with the ending, it has nothing to do with your contest but OMG it didn't even explain it. -
-
You saw the movie? How was it? Did they ever tell you about the monster or show you it?
-
Any kind of "end of movie explanation" that had was all in the beginning before the main story and characters showed up on the screen. Kind of confusing I know, but you really do need to pay attention to the first couple of minutes with the words of the screen.
