Okay people. Many of you may know that I started doing a series where I was lighting a candle and writing down my thoughts each night, in honor of a soldier in training, and a guy I really really really REALLY liked.
Well, I still light a candle for him each night, but because I discovered a couple lies, I no longer trust him, and I think he might have even been lying about telling me he loved me. He lied, I discovered the lies, he lost my trust, and he broke my heart.
I need stories about heartbreak. I don't mean "Oh i love you forever but i'm dying... and then is dead the next day" type heartbreak. I want the deep stuff. Like where one has to watch the one they love slip off into the mists of death, or into the arms of another person. Or where a trust that was so deep was broken in a moment of truth, by the discovery of a lie that was never supposed to have been. I want it to be between a man and a woman. The man's heart breaks.. or the woman's heart breaks, either one is fine.
I want to feel pain, I want to cry.
RULES: ((yeah yeah yeah.. I know you hate them..but gotta have them))
1) Standard SW rules apply, as always.
2) No fake heartbreak. AKA: no death to love after less than three months of saying "i love you" or something like that, and no sudden unexplained unreasonable deaths. MAKE IT LIKE REAL LIFE.
3) Please use a background that relates to love and/or heartbreak. That helps set the mood for your story.
4) Please make the heartbreak of a man/boy losing a woman/girl, or a woman/girl losing a man/boy. Because of my situation, that is how I am wanting people to enter.
5) If you can't think of anything for this contest, but would like to answer, ask me for a prompt in a private message.
6) Prewrites are allowed. I have decided to allow them, since nobody was entering on the freshwrites only arena.
7) I'll think of more later, perhaps.. keep checking back.
((Hint: I like real life, and midieval/rennaisance era stories about true heartbreak. using such categories MIGHT, but is not guaranteed, to give you a leg up.))
I WILL REMOVE //ALL// STORIES THAT DO NOT PERTAIN TO THE RULES ABOVE. ((The only exception will be the background, because of prewrites.))
Oh, and by the way. This is a Pay It Forward (PIF) contest. Gold winner must host a contest within two weeks of winning, using at least the points they won from this contest.

just out of curiosity, what branch of military did he join?
my fiance' is in the Marines, he just finished bootcamp about a month and a half ago. -
umm...does it HAVE to be between people who are in love? Like, does one have to break the others heart or can both of their hearts be broken because of the same thing?
