For Writing 101 Members Only

Alrighty, guys, here's the deal.

As Abstract already said, we want creepy halloween stories that send shivers up and down your spine and make you afraid to go to sleep at night.

Simple enough, don't you think?

Here's the catch...

No spins off of any halloween critters. You got it. No Freddie, Jason, or Michael(or any other spook I forgot). Think of something completely original.

Now for the rules:

1) No profanity. We want the winner to be a spotlight story, so we need to keep this as close to G as possible.

2) No erotica. Once again, the G thing.

2.5) Good grammar and polished stories are Always prefered, but we won't hurt you too badly for errors. (haha! Playin')

3) MINIMUM of 1000 words.

4) MAXIMUM of 5000 words.

Okidokie, I think that's it. Have fun writing this and make sure you give us your best!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on November 4, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100
  • Final notes:
First off, thanks to all who entered! All the entries were good, but I have only three places, so congrats to those who won!

Little reminder that first place is nominated for a Spotlight, and runner-up is a featured story on the group page. Here's who won what.

    1) Horror in the CB >> I loved the way Token presented this, and it was slightly creepy. It pulled me in and I couldn't get out. Over all, it was great.

    2) Heaven Has No Rage, Nor Hell a Fury... >> Someone did research! yay! lol. Seriously, though, it was well put together, and very suitable to the halloween theme.

    3) the Crosser, Redone>> okay, not particularly scary, but it was halloween-ish. I liked it, and it had an original tone to it. I believe she did a good job, for all her lack of word count. lol.

Contest Winners

  1. This is not a true story so please don't take offense. This was just something I came up with.. I hope you enjoy the story though

Perhaps capitalization isn't enough. Mayhap I should bold the Minimum requirement as well...

Just a note... word length is so easy to make up... I really don't like it when people break this rule.
