The Poet's Challenge: Round I

Hello dear friends and writers ~

It is wonderful to see you have qualified to continue on this journey with us. It really pleases me and the other judges to see you all here ~   The last round was your qualification, you just had to enter a pre-write, however, this time you write a new story ~

The challenges will be tough, and this is not a partiality contest and rather a talent contest, so do not expect any favors. The judges and I are completely impartial on judgment, seeing as we really can’t see your names ~   Moving on ~

~*~

Before we begin, let me tell you something.

In Round One, you earn one of three passes. These are:

~ The Originality Pass – Adds an extra 15 points to your score. You can use this one incase you think you have not done very well on your assignment.

~ The Immunity Pass – Saves either you or someone else form elimination.

~ The Creativity Pass – Adds an extra 20 points to your score and similar as the Originality Pass.

The passes can only be used once. They may go to anyone at anytime, as we look into more than your writing friends. Please, use these wisely and the person who gets the pass, -- must not -- tell any one else he has it. If I hear otherwise – eliminations can be early. Ahem ~   Once you use them, they will be forwarded to someone else. You may use the ‘extra points’ passes only before we judge the contest and once you do, please inform us through instant messaging. IM.

~*~

We have with us, ten extremely talented writers. I am going to divide you into groups in this contest. Each group will be given a specific package. Each of you have to create your own poems though, but you must help out your team members okay!

Now, you’re team members will be giving you marks out of ten that shall go into your points as a bonus, they’ll give you marks for friendliness and sportsmanship ~

~   Read suggestions and judging rules: they help a lot.

~ There is no word or line limit. BUT remember, sometimes the shorter the poem, the more it speaks. REMEMBER THIS but that does not mean you shoudl take away from your poem and become greedy with spending lines ~

Suggestions

~ Please proofread, two mistakes will cost you one point in the structure category.

~ Originality is a must and is the most important thing here; creativity second.

~ Replying to comments is advisable. It might make us give you the Immunity Pass. Winks ~

~ Be sure to read all rules.

~ Render us speechless.   ~

Write something in the author’s notes that tells us about you, your personality, your favorite quote. It advisable to write something deep and effective, which explains your compassion for those in need. It is the key to getting – the passes.

~ Remember – These prompts are very deep. There is a lot to shuffle and budge. Take your time and give us beauty   ~
