And They All Lived Happily Ever After? Yeah, Right.

I'm so sick of stories where everything works out in the end and everyone is happy and cheery and everyone loves everything and all that. Life dosen't always work that way. So this time I want to see stories that don't end in happy cheery smiles. Not everyone has to die lol, but it can't be your steryotypical happy ending.

Rules
no word limit but if you're gonna enter a series it better be good or i wont finish it lol.
all the usual rules, do we really need to repeat them?
prewrites allowed, but as always, fresh writes given prefrence.
no poems. this is a story contest
3 entries max

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on October 31, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 100, Silver: 50, Bronze: 25, Honorable mention: 6 people
  • Final notes:
Wow, I'm so sorry guys. Usually my contests get like 10 entries, and the one that got 40, all the entries were under 1000 words. so i was completely blown away this time, with a collective 100,000 words to read! damn you guys can write lol. there were so many great stories here, a lot i wanted to put on the finalist list i couldnt. alot i wanted to give trophies but couldnt. you guys are awesome. it was so hard to pick the finalists.
the HMs here ARE actually in order, but the remaining finalists are not.
congratulations everyone, and sorry for not commenting on all entries. as i said, over 100,000 collective words to read lol. it takes me maybe 5 minutes to do a review, which isnt a whole lot, but lets say 5 minutes, times 50 something entries, is well over 4 hours! its kinda scary when you look at it that way... and it means i actually have to make myself finish stories that i know wont win because they make me want to click out to start with (not that that was a common occurance here!)

    Hmm

That is so weird. I was actually thinking of making an exact opposite contest. Seems like everything I see on here is sad, teen-depressed, I'm-so-dark-angst. Especially with the 31st creeping up. Good Luck with this contest.
