Random Options

I just finished judging my old contest, and I had so much fun, I wanted to have another one. This time, I'm going to have some really random options for you to choose from.

Options:

1) A sci-fi story. Normally I don't like sci-fi, but I want to see what you guys have got. Maybe you can convert me. In order for me to enjoy the story, it needs to have a semi-fast-paced plot line with a fair amount of action.

2) Give me a story about a meddling ex. I want to know all the juicy details of why the ex-girlfriend or boyfriend is meddling in the budding relationship and what the new girlfriend or boyfriend is doing about it.

3) A vampire story. I know this is probably overdone, but give me a good vampire story. brownie points if you have an extremely original plot. (as of October third no more entries for vampires. Sorry guys, but I've had a lot of them so far)

4) A story about pirates. I LOVE pirates, so I want a good story about them.

5) A story about the origin of catpeople. Did god create them? Did man? Or did they evolve like we may have? I want to know how they came about. (This was the basis for my first failed contest, so major brownie points if you write me a good story about them)

That's all the options I can think of now. I expect a lot of good entries with so many choices. Unfortunately I need to have some rules.

Rules:
1. No poems or song lyrics. Sorry but I am not really into either. I like stories with lots of action, that a poem or story doesn't quite accomplish for me.
2. No stories that have been in more than 10 other contests. I prefer they be newly written stories that haven't been in any, but definitely no more than 10.
3. Only one entry per person.
4. No sticky caps.
5. Minimal spelling and grammar mistakes. Even if you type it up on storywrite, there is no reason you can't copy and paste your story into a word program and spell check it there. One or two mistakes is alright but once I have to stop to try and figure out what you were trying to say through all the typos, I won't finish reading.
6. No bashing any religion. I may not be religious myself, but I take offense when anybody bashes any religion, especially when they do it in ignorance.
7. Stories no more than 3,000 words please.

For the most part, I'm an easy-going judge. I'll comment every single entry, even if I have to remove it from the contest for violating the rules. Please indicate which option you have chosen in the author's comment box. I know most will be self-explanatory but for those that might not be, I want the option number there to refer back to. I am okay with swearing and erotica as long as neither are too prominent in the story. I will probably add more points as the contest goes along so keep checking back.

Good Luck!

*As of October third I am now extending the contest for a later date because I want more variety, as said before, no more vampire stories please*

If only all people would obey rule number 5 in every single contest, hosting them would be so much better.

Would it be okay if I submitted a new chapter in an ongoing story that would work with one of your options? Providing that I gave a brief synopsis of the-story-so-far before the story?

That's fine by me, as long as you do the synopsis.

I'm looking more for the origin of catpeople, not just a story about them, but if your story works then awesome.

Amen to rule number five. I tell you this, if you can't spell check on your computer, find a dictionary. If you can't get a hold of one, don't enter.

But yeah, science fiction, in my experience, is not really a fast paced genre. Maybe certain scenes, or a select few books, but what your looking for is science-fantasy, in the order of Star Wars.

    I'll try, for you, though.
