I want stories that make me feel intensely.
If it's horrific, I want to be afraid of something I have no right to be afraid of, or at least not so intensely frightened about. I want to sleep no more than eight hours total in the week after I read it. I want to wake in the night and shoot at my air conditioner for fear it's your critter, haunt, or ghoul come to take me in my sleep.
If it's romantic, I want to fall in love with every girl I see when I leave my house. I want to burn with love for life again. I want to go out into the world, and never be content again once I realize that your hero or heroine does not truly exist.
If it's melancholy, I want to go into my bedroom and be alone. I want to feel the plight of a distressed world laid square on my shoulders. I never want to be able to live a life untouched by sadness, as long as I live.
Anything you want to write about can be entered, and any genre. But I want you to blow me away, people. No word limit. No content restrictions. I trust you can do this well and correctly.
I won't judge this until I have at least 15 entries, hopefully more. I wouldn't feel right giving out 1200 points without decent competition between you.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 3, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 700, Silver: 350, Bronze: 175
- Final notes: Alright, guys. It's been a good run. Well, I lie. I got some utterly s***** stories this time around. Whatever.
If you got a medal, you deserved it. If you didn't, either your story was good but didn't fit right, or your story didn't deserve a medal. I could more or less list of every entry that fell into the first category.
I wouldn't be too hasty to ascribe yourself to the former, either, guys.
Thanks for participating,
WR

I'm a cynic, but a good writer can still get me hot under the collar, in the end.
