There are many options for this one, so pick one and get writing! Be sure to read the whole thing through, to know how NOT to get dqed.
Option 1: Character Developement.
Rules:
1. Character must be a fantasy type of one of the following races : Human, Dwarf, Elf, Giant, Troll, Sprite, Centaur, Vampire, Wolfen, Triton, Angel, Dark Angel, or Siren.
2. Character must have a specific guild that they specialize in out of these : warrior, mage, thief, paladin, cleric, ranger
3. I want a description of your character's physical appearence, what do they look like, what color hair and eyes do they have? How tall are they and what is their build? What birthmarks or distinguishing features do they have? What kinds of clothes do they wear? Etc, the more detailed the better.
4. I want you to include a background of your character, their childhood, any conflicts in their lifetime, a life long goal or quest, an enemy or a menagerie of companions. Think somewhat along the lines of a classic fantasy adventure story.
5. I want to see personality. I want to see if they are a happy, sad, angry, quiet, loud, cheerful, pessimistic, hyper active, or withdrawen character. Are they good or evil? How they move and speak affects how they look personality wise. Make it very clear.
6. So in all, (this is not really a story) write out the characters name and description, then post their background, then write a bit about their personality with examples. Again, more details the better.
7.Extra extra kudos to anyone who picks this!
Option 2: Write about a woman and her dog companion.
Rules:
1. Must be a widowed old woman, with a dog of one of the following breeds: Labs, Great Danes, German Sheperds, Rotweilers, Golden Retrievers, or collies.
2. Must have a special bond in some way, and be the only friend the woman has.
3. Must end up with a sad ending either to the dog or woman.
4. That's it, good luck
Just to make sure you are reading alll this long stuff, in your author notes, put I <3 contests! It's corny but I wanna make sure everyone read everything
You will be dq'd for not following this simple rule.
Option #3 : Wolves
Rules:
1. Write about somewhere cold, where a child from an eskimo tribe runs away for whatever reason.
2. Have her find a pack of wolves, and learn to join them as if one of their own.
3. Must have her start to become like the wolves in every aspect, so that she forgets about her human self.
4. Have a surprise ending that tears the wolves and the girl apart.
Option #4 : Video game idea
Rules:
1. Write a brief sentence about the plotline for a video game.
2. Then you have to write out a list of characters, atleast more than two. Write basic details, name, birthday, height etc, also including personality information
3. Create the fantasy world that the game is set in. Name it and make very unique features. Like half the world is ocean and the other half is mountains. Something different.
4. Thicken up the plotline now, and get a list of events that happen down that create tension, suspense and action.
5. Write up a good ending with atleast one of the good guys dying, and the main bad guy dying aswell.
6. Write a lot of detail! There is no word limit, and this blends a video game with a fantasy story. So kudos for trying this one!
Format (example) :
Kale is a swordsmen looking to avenge my father
Kale- Male; 17; 5'9; 154 pounds, born in town of Loreia, confident but reckless, determined
Alice- Female; 16; 5'6' 132 pounds, born in same town, smart, ambitious, braggy but sweet, know-it-all
Nabbokov- Male; 31; 6'2; 210 pounds; born in the dark forest of Dashin, evil, malicious, violent, dictator-like.
Set in world of Koyln. Two moons, one a dark one, one the light one they circle the world. The world is always half dark and half light, filled with oceans, forests, mountains and on the dark side the volcanos.
Nabbokov kills Kale's father in the war between dark and light. Kale sets out to avenge his father alone, but Alice his friend sets out with him.
Blah blah blah lol well you get it and I can't type up the whole thing anyways. Simple enough right?
Onto the next option!
Option #5 : Simple Sonnet
Rules:
1. Must be a sonnet ie: 14 lines with strict rhyme scheme and logical structure
2. Must either be about love or death
3. Preferred to be shakespearian like, and I will be searching for plagerizers
dq immediately ofcourse.
4. That's it, simple I know
Option #6 : Favorite Disney Movie
Rules:
1. Obviously must like disney movies
2. Must say why it is your favorite, what you like about it, the characters you like or don't like, identify with, what could have been better, and write up an alternate ending.
3. For alternate ending, must be appropriate and logically fit ofcourse. No erotica anything that doesn't belong.
Option #7 : Prejudices and Racism.
Rules:
1. Must be written in a rant/information essay form
2. Must disclose your feelings about racism and prejudices, why you agree/disagree with some
3. List at least 3 stereotypes that can be anything at all aslong appropriate. Just for example : Because I'm Jewish I must be Greedy, Because I'm white I must be racist, Because I'm rich must mean I'm a snob. Things like that. Include your opinion about the ones you choose.
4. Please be nice, I'm sure that there are people who might be addressed in the stereotypes, and this isn't made to offend anyone. So be appropriate!
That's all the options for now, I realize some may be easier than others. But kudos for the more indepth one definately. No word limit on any of the choices, and I'll try and comment every one promise. So get writing and remember I'm a sucker for detail!

Heh. Option three is the exactly plotline from Julie of the Wolves. Did you ever read that book? It's pretty good.
-
What a great contest! I am definately going to write something for option 1! I love fantasy characters!
-
I have three questions.
For your option 7 (prejudices and racism), do you JUST want racism, or can I write about other prejudices (such as religion, sexuality, beliefs, practices, etc?) I just want to double-check because your examples are mostly just concerning race/ethnicity... My second question is: For option 7, must prejudices in general be discussed? Your rules 2 and 3 throw me off... And lastly, (again, about option 7
), for rule three, do you want the three prejudices discussed in the rant/essay or is this something for...like the author's notes?
Wow, that was a lot of questions. Anyway, I just wanted to double-check with you, because you seem very specific for that option and I don't know if my essay/rant will qualify...
Anyway, thanks!
-
Wow. NICE contest!
Very cool ideas. If I had time, I would definitely write for this
-
good idea for contest
