Children's Stories

Hello!

This is a new contest, hosted by myself and Andy Stephenson. The theme of this contest: Children's stories!

Rules:

1. Must be written for an audience aged 14 or younger. Thus, NO adult content and NO swearing (although I'll accept the occasional 'damn,' if you really must swear in your story).

2. Can be written for any genre: fairy tales, scary stories, teen romance, mystery, etc.

3. Poems are also allowed, including nursery poems, nonsense poems, etc.

4. Less than 2,500 words, please.

5. New stories are given a LOT more preference, but prewrites are allowed.

Other than those five rules, there are absolutely no limits. Use your imaginations and write something amazing! Good luck!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on August 31, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 200, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 3 people
  • Final notes:
I really enjoyed reading everyone's submissions. Placing the finalists in their current order was an extremely hard decision, as both Andy Stephenson and myself had different opinions on the winning stories.

By the way, a round of applause to Andy Stephenson, who was a great co-host. Heh, he actually read and commented on the contest entries relatively quickly, unlike myself.

Thank you all for entering! You did an excellent job!
