I put the laughter in manslaughter

Greetings, everyone! Yet another contest for the strong minded. I'm looking for a short story that is a mystery. It doesn't necessarily have to be a Sherlock Holmes type of deal (but ooh I love stories like that), but in any case I want some thinking to go into it. Surprise ending, strange point of view... use your imagination. The key word here is mystery, whether the story itself is a mystery, or if it's just mysterious.
It's all right to get down and dirty with a crime story. Murder is allowed.
And, of course, there can be no contest without them... the rules!

1. This is a short story contest, so the word limit is 2,500 words. It's okay if you go a little over, but honestly, it's a pain in the ass to read 20 novels in one day.

2. No sticky caps, though I doubt anyone does that anyway.

3. Erotica, violence, and swearing are allowed, but try to make it tactful.

4. You can enter a pre-written story and you can enter as many times as you like.

5. Make the story a mystery.

Follow these five rules and you're golden!
I hope to see a lot of cool mysteries.
Have fun everyone!
Much love,
Trillian =)
