Sand
UPDATE: Please put your name in the authors box, so we can know you are from our group. *grin* Thanks
Abstract Muse and I would like to announce the 1st 'Serious about reviews' contest. And because it is the middle of summer and in most places scorching hot, we thought it appropriate to have the contest theme be: Sand
What is the first thing that pops into your mind when you think sand? You might find this odd, but the first thing I think of is glass. Odd yes, but my husband installs windshields for a living.
More common thought would be the beach, sandcastles, sandboxes. So your options are:
1. A child's sandbox
2. The beach
3. Desert
4. Sand-dunes
5. Sand-crabs
6. Ocean Floor
7. One grain of sand's travels.
8. Sand at the bottom of the fish tank.
9. Sandpaper
10. Sandcastles
The story doesn't have to just be about sand, but a big, huge, enormous reference must be made to it.
Rules :
1. Keep erotic to a minimum (I don't like to blush).
2. Swearing is ok as long as it fits the character.
3. Word limit; at least 500 but no more than 2500, unless you contact Abstract Muse or I with a different count.
4. No sticky caps
5. Please use spell check. I'll tolerate a little mistake here and there, Goddess knows I make them, but too many and I'll remove the story.
6. Background should be kept a neutral color.
7. Must be a member of this group.
8. Put the option in the author's notes.
9. Poems are acceptable.
Any violation of these rules will result in the removal of your story.

All I could come up with was quicksand
But I'll try to catch the next one - hehe - I have been too busy reviewing, and not busy enough writing - I need to reverse this trend.
A great idea for a contest, and I do hope to get some free time to read a few.
By the way, I just saw Scandalous Beauty's avatar poke Asfand's avatar in the eye.
No, serious, I did!
K, don't believe me then. I intend to arm my avatar, lest this should get ugly - hehe.

So many great stories. I commented on all, and could not see any clearcut winner in the bunch. Judges, I do not envy the task ahead of you, as each story shines in its own way. Good luck to all!
