POETRY

okay, another one of my poetry contests.
all you gotta do is write me a poem... that's it.

RULES:

1. no word limit.
2. there CAN be erotica, swearing etc
3. i dont care what its about... it can be about WHATEVER you want... as long it doesn't bash any religion or culture or anything.
4. POETRY ONLY. although song lyrics WILL also be accepted.
5. doesn't have to rhyme... prefer if it did, but it doesn't matter.
6. in Author's notes, make a quick explanation of it

1. originality
2. flow
3. if there's rhyming, does it sound forced?
4. emotion (if needed)

3. you may find yourself asking what the point of this contest is. well, i shall tell you. i have searched for days to find a contest for poetry. i have waited for someone to make one for poetry. i have found none for poetry. i have created one for poetry before and it was good. there are a lot of poets on this site and i decided to give them a chance at winning a trophy for their efforts that sometimes go unnoticed because the majority of things posted here are stories (hence the name STORYWRITE) but still...
4. if i don't comment on your work, it might mean that either
a] i havent had time and will come back to it later or
b] i didn't like it and didn't want to leave a mean comment... that can be very disheartening.
5. i will be honest with what i think... dont be offended or discouraged if i make a comment that you dont like... i am very picky.

    I'm so glad to finally be able to enter some contests on here that are for POETRY...(since that's about all I know how to write so far! lol).

    I know AllPoetry is supposed to be the site to use, BUT...it's such a hassle trying to maintain 2 pages...and I really think one site should be able to handle BOTH poetry AND stories since they are both forms of creative writing and most people like the variety of having different options anyway. (Alot of times, I don't feel up to reading really lengthy stories, and prefer something short and sweet to inspire)...

    So THANKS for giving the poets on here a shot at winning something! That's very cool!

      yeah i agree... I'm sure that one site is able to manage both types of writing... what difference does it make anyway? lol.
      and yes, i don't usually feel up to reading long stories either. usually i get bored pretty easily so poems are great =] lol
      no worries, i just wish more people would make poetry contests because i cant seem to find any that suit my style!

        I wish more people would as well. But maybe you will be the one to lead the way??? More of us should ban together to make poetry MORE POPULAR on here...and maybe then ppl won't feel the need to have to use AllPoetry as much just to post their stuff if it's not a "story"!

            Sounds like a grand idea to consider...would be cool to have a group just for poets. I'm sure you'd find a decent amount of ppl interested in that!

            Meanwhile...keep the contests comin'! (gives me incentive to post more stuff! lol)
