Quirky characters (Focused writing contest: part I)

This is part one of a four part grouping of contests, I plan to host. What I plan to do is have each contest focus on one of three things I find to be incredibly important in writing. This first one is characters, the next one I will put up will be focused on setting, the third will focus on plot, and the fourth will focus on putting it all together.

On to this contest though, I want stories focused on characters, I want to know the character inside and out when I finish reading. To make it interesting I want an interesting personality quirk within the main character or characters. For example, the character has MPD, or is incredibly paranoid, or OCD, Refuses to bathe, because "That's when they'll get you...", Believes that 'the kittens' steal her thoughts, things like that, make the characters interesting.

As a second, less recommended, option, an unheard of hero, like a woman in an extremely patriarchal society, or something like that.

Things I prefer are fantasy style things, and don't forget to write something for plot, even though the story is focusing on the character.

RULES!
1. Between 1000 and 4000 words, a few over or under is fine.
2. Write properly, or at least attempt it. I am not always great at proper English, but if it is way off I'm gonna notice, and it is probably going to bug me, so just please write with good grammar and spelling, and what not.
3. Keep to what I'm looking for, focus on characters.

As a final note, I will be commenting on every story, and if I seem rude or condescending, I do not mean to, I'm just going to say what I think, and some people don't like what I have to say. I'm not going to lie to you, so be prepared for what I really think, I will try to be nice regardless, but I don't always come off as I plan to.

Good luck everyone.
