One Word

Wow.
I'm just that great with contests JUST KIDDING!
Whoa. I wasn't expecting this...30 entries and it hasn't been up eight hours yet.
SO. I added a ton of honorable mentions. Happy?? Thanks for alll the entries and this is gonna be sooo hard!!!


Alright.
New contest

I just got in idea. I want you to write a poem...with one word in it. That's all. One word.

Because...
A couple years ago, in grade school, I had a teacher. And she would read us a poem every day.
Once, she read us a poem that was one word (I remembered it by heart!)
The poem was this: Motherless.

She explained that it was a poem, because you can interpret it in a bunch of ways.

I liked that poem. A lot. So I want you to write one and enter it

...Basically, its not too much work on your part. All you have to do is think of a word that you think has a lot of meaning, like motherless, and enter it. Not bad, huh?

Now. Everyone who's seen any of my other five contests knows that I always have loved new stories. This is the first contest, though, that I will NOT allow prewrites I doubt anyone has a one word poem out anyway

So. The one word could be considered a story, in a way, too, in my opinion anyway.

I don't care what its about. Just write one.

That's about all.

Things you should know/Rules:

-I am a gold member for a little while. That means I get to see who you are! But don't worry, I don't care. If you suspect me of being unfair, message me. But I doubt that will happen.

-Um...oh yeah! I have a word count this time!!! The word count is...dun dun DUN! ONE WORD!!!! Who could've guessed THAT one!?

-I AM A TEENAGER. Do I have to say that again? In two of my contests, both of which I mentioned no adult or erotica, I got adult and Erotica. I CANNOT VIEW THOSE STORIES, therefore I can't judge those contests. Understand? NO adult and erotica, thanks (Though, for one word, I doubt you could have many adult/erotica.)

-I will tell you this straight out: I tend to have the ones that I like, as in the ones that have something to do with somethign I like, win more. I've said that on other contests. IF you use a word that I can tie into something I enjoy, or believe in or whatever, I will look at it more. My contest, my rules.

-Some things I like are:

Families. Anything of them.
Animals.
Friends.
Love.
Nature.

If you wanna know something, ask me.

...Um...That's like all I can think of. I think I covered everything.

OH YEAH!

-Enter as many times as you want, but I'll make sure if you enter 5 times, you won't win gold, silver AND bronze! One trophie per person.

Okay. The following are a few of the poem word thingys I;ve gotten so far, and their definitions, as of a Mirium Webster online dictionary.Under those, I'll put my definition of the word.
The point of this is that it shows how diverse the definitions of one word can be, and how they can all mean different things.

Ageless-
1 : not growing old or showing the effects of age

2 : TIMELESS, ETERNAL

My definition: Staying young.


Beauty-
1 : the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit : LOVELINESS

2 : a beautiful person or thing; especially : a beautiful woman

3 : a particularly graceful, ornamental, or excellent quality

4 : a brilliant, extreme, or egregious example or instance

My definition: Pure; sweet. Innocent, good; inside and out.


Friendship-
1 : the state of being friends

2 : the quality or state of being friendly : FRIENDLINESS

My definition: Having a bond with someone that will last, and that helps you get through anything.


Forever-
1 : for a limitless time

2 : at all times : CONTINUALLY

My definition: Never ending; ever lasting.


Love-
1 a (1) : strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties
(2) : attraction based on sexual desire : affection and tenderness felt by lovers (3) : affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests b : an assurance of love

2 : warm attachment, enthusiasm, or devotion

(1) : a beloved person : DARLING -- often used as a term of endearment
(2) British -- used as an informal term of address

My definition: A feeling like no other; complete trust between two people; a never ending, ever-lasting thing that two people can have, bringing them into a long and strong relationship (romantic or otherwise).


Faithless-
1 : not true to allegiance or duty : TREACHEROUS, DISLOYAL

2 : not to be relied on : UNTRUSTWORTHY

My definition: Without faith; with no hope.


Kiss-
1 : to touch with the lips especially as a mark of affection or greeting

2 : to touch gently or lightly
intransitive verb

1 : to salute or caress one another with the lips

2 : to come in gentle contact

My definition: An act bringing two people (or otherwise ) together; a soft caress as a reaction to love. (Again, romantic or otherwise).


Fate-
1 : the will or principle or determining cause by which things in general are believed to come to be as they are or events to happen as they do : DESTINY

2 a : an inevitable and often adverse outcome, condition, or end b : DISASTER; especially : DEATH

3 a : final outcome
b : the expected result of normal development
c : the circumstances that befall someone or something

4 plural, capitalized : the three goddesses who determine the course of human life in classical mythology

My definition: The outcome of life; what's going to happen to someone or something without a factor that they can change

    A Brilliant Idea!

    How clever of you! The word I liked best in all that lot was,"cough" I used to be an Army Nurse and when the Mens' Medicals were on, that's all the Doc said to the men!
