Crying Happy

This is my first contest and I want to cry with happiness people.
If you don't know what I mean I will give you some hints.

1. Make me so happy I cry. This has got to be really packed with emotion, it could be a love story, overcoming odds, something inspirational, or just something as simple as walking down the road and it being sunny and how fabulous that makes you feel. Make me so happy that when I leave my room my flatmates will go throw up because of how happy I am.

2. Happy sad. If you have read her Sheryl Jordon's books 'Secret Sacrement' and 'The Juniper game' do this well. Like dying but its okay because all the happiness you could ever want is welcoming you with open arms on the otherside.

To help I will also give you some hints of things that make me happy - I am a sucker for romance, most particularly romance that overcomes something, whether this be homophobia, racism or parents that don't understand. I like the beauty of nature, I like nice people, and just happy stuff like that.

Remember I have to feel it, and if you get tears you will probably be a finalist.

Rules
1. Nothing to much longer than 2000 words, I can't cope with long reads, my mind goes out the window
2. If I can't read it, either because of bad grammer, spelling, unedited, background colour, sticky caps, stuff like that, you will be out of here.
3. You can bash whoever you like, but bashing makes me sad and not is a good way, so you had better think about whether the story will make me happy if there is any bashing in it.
4.Pre writes are allowed, but they must be primarily about my criteria, if they are only passingly happy they will be gone.
5. Erotica is fine, but label it appropriately and sex alone doesn't make me happy so there should a story as well
6. One entry each

I may edit these rules along the way, so keep an eye open, but only maybe.

I will try to comment on everybodies story, as best I can.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on July 15, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 3 people
  • Final notes:
This was really hard to judge for me, I got some really well written stories that while they were absolutely beautifully written, didn't actually make me cry though they did make me sit there and wish I was in some of the places that had been described.
But top prize goes to the entry, Tied Knots, it was short sweet and just most beautiful, it was a wonderful story.
I wish I could have given more people prizes, if I ever create a descriptive story contest, you guys should so be entering!
    Happiness all.

I wish I had something to fit this. I don't think I'm good at happy crying. Maybe I'll try...

kay, so the story i entered was the first to pop in my head ive used it in another contest and got good critiques, and i know it says only one entry each but the other one isn't quite finished, the one i really wanted to enter, so i was hoping maybe for an acception? or maybe...i've never tried to remove a story from a contest, is there any way to switch stories?? Just curious, thanks!
    Amanda

P.s. this was a good contest, challenging as well, which is good

I want to join this so much. It's too bad I'm a very dark writer. xD
Idea for the 'happy dieing' though, so you might see something!
