Fandi Contest II - Poems

Yea, well, the title does say it all. This is my second contest and well, its not as lenient as the previous one. Having options and different entries was really nice, but no, it's too hard to judge the contest, leaves a certain amount of guilt - Hey, maybe he didn't deserve the trophy!

So, in this contest, i'm looking for poems. Give me your best poems, just make sure they are poems!

Judges:

Asfand   Aaez

I am co-judging with my best friend in the whole wide world! Um ... yea, again!

As the judges, we will look for quality, not quantity. All we need is something good, something meaningful, something that blows us away!

There will be lots of comments and honest criticism.

Suggestions:

Nothing cliche , yea, i know - i say that often and i mean it ... totally! Beautiful titles, that are befitting and really intriguing. Something imaginative, something that shows you have really put your mind into thought. I don't want stupid sentences, nothing idiotic, if it's humour allow it to be witty, not that - man with penis for left arm and a girlfriend turning to a revenge-seeking monkey. I don't want cliches, oh - already said that! I want to see the beauty of a peom, don't give me descriptions, give me ambiguity.I want the images to be vague, i want to feel emotion and work it out myself. Seriously, no cliches . I want perfect language, poems are short and there is no berth for typos and grammatical errors. The rest is up to you, just know that i want to see what a poem is actually all about - true, meaningful beauty.

Judging Shall Be Based On:

Originality. Grammar and word arrangement. Sense of meaning. Easy interpretation. Multiple interpretation. Deep sentences.

Rules:

Absolutely no erotica, no adult content - i'm only fourteen and the computer won't let me acces to those - so there! No cliches - Yea, that's a rule! No sticky caps. See: oNly iDiOtz usE sTiCky CaPz Poems cannot be long, so no word-limit. If there are too many errors - you're disqualified. Enter as many times as you want - but don't expect more than one of your stories to get an award. The judges word will be final, it's there contest so they choose the winner, though we won't judge wrong. I'll add more rules as i think of them - Yup, i'm so evil!

Notes:

The other contest is fairing well, but of course, judging is difficult. It should be much easier on this contest - we hope!

A good poem or story will get an award sixty trillion times if it beats everything - so i won't care if it has already won soemthing or not, though if it has - it's probably good.

There will be more points - i swear!

If there is a story with erotic content, it will be removed, thus bringing you to shame ... tsk.

I hope i get loads of entries!

Good Luck to everyone!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on July 11, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 100, Silver: 50, Bronze: 25, Honorable mention: 6 people
  • Final notes:
Ah, yet another contest ended! I ended this a few hours before it's actual closing. I decided no one would be willing to join. So, well my contest. So, with a total of 39, the results are out. Congratulations to the worthy winners:

Gold: Ode To My Quil Pen
    Silver: Dry Peaches
    Bronze: Love poem
HM: Drop on my heart a rose
    HM: Ignorance is bliss
    HM: Hidden in the Cards
HM: My Secret Self ...(2nd version)
    HM: The Battle Within
    HM: Destroy'd

All of the entries were beautifully composed, and if not for my poverty of points i would give everyone an HM. Again, thanks for entering, it was very enjoyable and if anyone is even reading this - its long isn't it - congrats to the winners!!
