Alright. I haven't done my own contest in a while, since I've been cojudging one with the Kings and Queens of the Contests, but here I am with another one
. (Yes, even though I still have five of my own going)
This is a very random contest. I just figured I needed a way to get rid of some points, so here I am
Now. This is what I want.
A good author is a good author. Period. If they out their all into it, I believe they can write things at any length and about anything, just as long as they try hard. BUT I am going to have a lot of prompts, so you can choose the one you're best at.
So. I have options.
Prewrites ARE allowed, but let me get this out there: I love new stories. If someone writes a new story and someone else puts in a prewrite, and I love them both totally equally, I will use the new one. Just to make that clear.
So Options I may add to these! And I am going to add more points AND keep this contest going for at least a month.
Oh yeah. And I'm always totally lenient on contests, but this one's going to be strict. And if you don't follow the criteria, then I will DQ you. I've never done that before.
So...With that out of the way...
OPTION ONE:
Quotes. Gotta love them. But they are sort of hard, that's why I give authors the choice here on if they want to write about them or not.
They have to be my quotes. This is the first contest I've been strict on, but it'll be a good contest.
So I'm gonna put my favorite quotes here. Brownie points if you use them, but if you ask, nice, then I will message you a new one or new ones until you find one you want.
Now, this is what I want. For the quotes, you can do basically anything. Poems welcome, short stories welcome, prewrites welcome, just make sure I know what the quote you used is. If it's directly in your story or poem, then you don't have to worry about anything else, but if it's a prewrite or not in there you need to put the quote you used either in the author’s notes or you can message me and give me the title and the quote you used.
Clear?
Good.
SO the quotes here are:
"You can go a long way with a smile. You can go a lot farther with a smile and a gun."
"Real stupidity beats artificial intelligence every time."
"I like this place, and willingly would waste my time in it."
"Music is the last true voice of the human spirit. It can go beyond language, beyond age, and beyond color straight to the mind and heart of all people."
"You don't have a soul. You have a body. You are a soul."
"Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light."
"Humans have a knack for choosing precisely the things that are worst for them."
"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light."
"The course of true love never did run smooth."
"The Poet makes himself a seer by a long, vast and reasoned derangement of the senses - every form of love, of suffering, of madness. "
"A Dream is where a boy can swim in the deepest oceans and fly over the highest clouds."
And
"If you feel like your life is under control, you're just not going fast enough."
OPTION TWO:
Songs. I love music. I will put some songs in here, as with the quotes, you can do whatever as long as it had to do with either the meaning of the lyrics or whatever. BUT, here, you MAY use your own song, as long as you message me the song lyrics or at least give me the title and artist.
Of course, if you use my songs, that's some brownie points for you. (If you don't know any of the songs but would like to do one, I can send you the lyrics.)
So, some of the songs I'd like to see written about are: (the * asterisk is double brownie point songs, ones that I'll look at the most)
JoJo- Too Little Too Late
Omarion- Ice Box
Rascal Flatts- Stand OR What Hurts the Most
*Red Jumpsuit Apparatus- Face Down
*Hannah Montana (Yeah, I know I know. But this song is awesome)- If We Were A Movie
Frankie J- Obsession
*Jonas Brothers- Hold On
Celine Dion- That's The Way It Is OR My Heart Will Go On (Titanic theme)
Elliot- I'll Wait for You
*Kelly Clarkson- A Moment like This OR Behind These Hazel Eyes OR Beautiful Disaster
*Aladdin (yes Yes I know)- A Moment Like This
Michelle Branch- All You Wanted
Clay Aiken- Shine
Fergie- Big Girls Don't Cry
*Dashboard Confessional- Stolen
*Katherine McPhee- Over It
*Boys Like Girls- The Great Escape
*Do You Know? (The ping Pong Song)
OPTION THREE:
I'm in love. And the feeling is amazing. So I'd love a story about crazy love. Anything about it. BUT, it can't and in hate. It can end tragically, like they die or one of them dies, but no hating each other. They have to love each other, even in the end.
With this one, make sure it's a finished story. I don't want chapters here. I want the whole deal.
OPTION FOUR:
Family. I am huge on family. BUT with this one, I want a close family. A brother and sister who look out for each other, a single mom raising her three boys and taking great care of them, whatever. But I want the family CLOSE, not full of hate.
In case you don't know yet, I love twins. They're so cute. So double brownie points if there are twins in the story.
Same as with 3, I want a finished story.
OPTION FIVE:
A good cliffhanger. I want one. BUT with this, it can be like chapter 6 of a story just because it's a cliffhanger. I need to be able to understand what's going on. If it's part of a series and I've read up to that point, however, you may enter it.
OPTION SIX:
My best friend is big on fantasy. She's got me hooked on it. Anything with vampires, fairies, dragons, whatever, can be entered here. There isn't a word limit, but I do like shorter stories, though longer is okay too.
OPTION SEVEN:
The beginning of a story. I want chapter one. Part one. Whatever. I want it. But to warn you, what I'll be looking for here will be you to get me hooked and want to read more. If it's not like that, you probably will not place, because that's what I'm looking for.
OPTION EIGHT:
My favorite type of movie is when there are best friends and they turn out loving one another. I love that. It always makes me happy. Write a story about it. It can be a part, BUT I want to read about them as friends AND when they're in love.
OPTION NINE:
A complete story. The whole deal. But a big one. One you've worked on, maybe in chapters, that you think is real good. I want to read it.
OPTION TEN:
My favorite animal is the white Bengal tiger. I’d love to read something with a white tiger in it!
OPTION ELEVEN:
I just finished reading a novel about a little girl who grew up too fast. Anything about a young child having to grow up before they should have to would be welcomed.
Hmmm that’s all I have for now. This contest will at least last till the end of July, and I'm thinking I may extend it till my birthday, July 24, and end it there. I want a lot of entries. If I get a lot, I'll take out the only twenty entries and make it no limit.
Any questions, message me.
Thanks a lot guys! I'll be adding!
PS: I want this to be a huge contest! I currently have 3 cojudges, and donated points would be welcome, any amount! Since we're holding it until at least the end of July, I want a lot of entries!
Xoxo
Taylor
PS: Okay, guys. Sorry, but I am a teen. I can't, and don't want to, read erotica or adult stories. Please don;t enter them because all that's gonna happen is that I'm gonna DQ you, okay?

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on September 16, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 250, Silver: 150, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 15 people
- Final notes: Oh my goodness.
I am SO mad at myself for making this contest.
Not because I didn't love absolutely every entry, because I did.
It's because of the fact that it was sooooo hard to judge. Not kidding.
My absolute top favorites were:
Don't Speak
O! Am I In Love?
Option Two\
Five Photographs
ABout the song Face Down
I'll Take Care Of You
The Tiger Of The Jungle
But those were just the fantastic ones that hit me. There were so many fantastic ones. Really.
Okay. I read every single entry, I swear. But I didn't comment on every one. I know, I know. If I did not comment on yours and you'd like me to, then just PM me. I'll be happy to comment now
But there were some amazing entries that did'nt win. Don't let that hold you down. This was a huge talent contest!
Now. I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to anyone who wrote a story for this contest. I appreciate more than you'd know. That's why I'd like to say this:
If you wrote a new story for this contest PM me and tell me. I am going to donate 10 points to everyone who wrote a story for this contest.
I know ten isn't a lot, but so many people wrote new stories for me!
Anyway, thank you all so very much. It was an amazing contest. Great job to all!
~Taylor

Best contest ever!
Hi, I'm Lillian. I love this contest so much! I actually can't choose which option I will write about. And that's a first time, because with most contests I am struggling to find something good. So Sailor Uranus, really thank you a lot for this contest!

P.S. Good luck to everyone entering! -
Interesting.
I'll see what I can dig around. -
I was wondering if you can use more than one of the quotes. I'm in love with about three of them but if that's just too much trouble I'll just pick one.
Wondeful contest! -
Is there a word count if you pick the 'best friends in love' option? and do they have to stay together, or are they alowed to split and still remain best mates?
-
BROWNIE POINTS!!!!!!! OH NOOO!! But I'm gonna try anyway. Good options.

Any word count at all? I didn't see one...

Question
Can I do a song/story using the Lynrard Skynard song Free Bird please? -
AH! So many options & my laziness left me only 9 hrs to write something for this!
Eh...probably not happening. Too lazy.
But this contest is the sex XD -
I choose option...
I choose option 9. I have been writing a book (in real life) since like the beginning of the year 2007, (I THINK) I need to make it longer as a chapter book because it;s only go 65 pages or something, so I'll just give you what I have now. -
D*mn it! Tay is going to have me writing like crazy!
-
I'm choosing 3, 6, and 9, all at once.
Well, my story basically uses those, unintentionally...
Also, it's not as Erotic as you think. It's all vague and hinted, so don't get all angry. -
Looks like you have a really good turn-out! Good luck to everyone in the contest.
-
option 5 struck me as a great idea! i think i'll write it right now!!!!! see ya tay tay renee!
